I think your dealer is blowing smoke...the cars are rare (i.e. non-existent) because they haven't been released yet for 2019. Once released, you will have the same opportunity to negotiate discounts as any other car.

just like any other car brand, dealers are full of **** and try to profit of low production numbers.

I heard the same nonsense line from 2 dealers in houston which includes the dealer that would be my local dealer and a dealer in florida who I was referred to as making good deals. All started out telling me about rarity, which i did not ask.
Contact Shahul at Eurogermantown. My 2019 arrived in baltimore on the 25th. His next allotment should be arriving in about 2 weeks i believe.

I would say this. Dealers are self interested, why would you expect them to act any different than other types of salespeople trying to maximize profit. It is true that allotments for AMGs are less than non AMGs, so they are simply trying to maximize profit on the opportunity. That being said, all salespeople are not the same. The ones that recognize a situation where both parties feel they struck a fair deal are the ones, IMO, you should try to work with. I bought my GLC63S from Shahul and Steve at EuroMotorcars. More than anything else, I trusted them. If you treat every transaction as a commodity, you’ll never get the service you expect. You might save a few bucks going the other way, but the negative energy and effort to achieve a small savings leaves no one really happy to work with you. This is MB, not a car mfr that sells 10x the volume each and every day. Just my two cents.

spot on with your assessment. I do the same with Porsche and you have to give them a fair piece of the pie as it works long term. I randomly get calls and say hey we have a new model coming let me know if you want me to hold back a slot for you, and yes MSRP. I give them a trade from time to time and I can get more by selling on the market, but you have to throw a bone. It’s a relationship and not always race to the bottom.

unfortunately, you have to give up (save money on) driver assistance and multimedia to get simple carplay/AA. it is ridiculous but Mercedes is the best or nothing at petty slights.

perhaps someone would figure a way to activate it. it is very disappointing.

now, how are all 4 of your fun cars 2018? you rotate toys every year or just decided to spend a lot of money on toys in 2018?

Go through cars pretty frequently. Sadly this is the last Ferrari I am doing. Hands down my 2 favorites I owned were the Speciale Aperta and my all time favorite the Scuderia.

OK...I see many E450 coupes on cars.com but I don't see any listings with real photos from the dealerships for C43, SLC43 and S560. That tells me that they aren't going to be released until next week (at the earliest). Based on earlier posts, these 3 models are going to be released before the GLC 43/63. Can any of our dealer friends update us with new information with a more definitive date? (My nerves are getting the best of me since I've been waiting with a car at the VPC for more than 2 months now)

From my dealer:

“All of our 2019 AMGs are stuck at the port waiting for US software updates. The software availability is delayed so they can’t release the car yet. I will update you when the factory releases it. I apologize for the delay.”

Another Update on Vehicles Stuck at Port

Guys,

Don't know how good this info is but this is what I got from my dealer last week on getting vehicles out of VPC (Brunswick, GA in my case) to dealers.

From my SA - Despite the fact that our ship arrived safely, we are at the mercy of the US Government clearing our newest models for release. Every new arrival must now be re-certified...thank you VW and Diesel-gate...with a watchful eye on emissions, before being released. We will continue to put pressure on Mercedes-Benz Distribution, and I will continue to monitor and keep you posted. From new car Sales Manager -

I just called distribution & here is the latest info:

2019 GLC 43/63….. November ( not sure when in November).
2019 CLS 450 …November
2019 G500 late October
2019 G63 mid December
2019 S560…. October
2019 S560X Maybach …November
2019 E63…December
2019 GLS 63 ….late October
2019 GT series …December
2019 GT4….1st ¼ of 2019
2019 C 43 class…November
2019 C63 class….December
2020 GLE order banks will open probably in December

Thanks,Donnie MooreSales Manager

My dealer updated me today too: "Mercedes USA is waiting for the updated US Spec software to load and then the EPA and DOT has to certify the model for the new 2019 model year. I just emailed my AMG district manager. I am hoping for early November. I will update you as soon as I get the latest from the factory"

If CARB has to re-certify, sounds like it can be several more months longer now. I doubt that CARB will just speed track the application. Darn

actually, CARB probably won't take too long. I'm also waiting for a 2019 performante spyder which is waiting for CARB approval. I and others on the Lamborghini forum have contacted the person at ARB responsible for the EOs and he says that he usually turns them around in 1 or 2 weeks from when he gets them. For Lambo's, VW has been the ones responsible for the delay since they were late in submitting their application for the MY19 performantes. I would say MBUSA is the one that's causing all of the delays for the MY19 GLC63's and not really CARB.

2019 GLC43 seem to have been released from the port of Halifax today. They should be en route to the dealership by tomorrow!!!
I ordered my coupe in March so I really can’t wait to finally sit in it SOON!

Honestly, I have not thoght about it much until now because I was all in on the GLC. i am not going to BMW or Audi. I like the Macan but update was underwhelming and power to value is not there. Trackhawk might be my only grudging choice at this poin even though I really want to step away from mopar for a minute.

Port is not VPC, they usually go thru VPC first or VPC to another remote port, so the car will go to VPC and then wait there
