I am going to do the front first since no tools to push the piston back are needed .
I need to understand how the rear needs to be done before taking everything off .
Any good video recommended ?
Thanks
I got mine at Brakeworld. Mine are for the 63. They included a new sensor for the rear axle...but no new clips. The font pads did not include a sensor and they told me that is just the way it is. Odd. Probably a good idea to install new sensors...but it may very well depend on how much wear you have. I have less than 4,000 and am interested to see what the sensor looks like.

Below is a good reference video for the entire procedure.

This video was most helpful in getting to the correct menu for putting the parking brake into service mode. I gave it a shot and it all worked correctly so I feel good about proceeding with the rears...it did take a few tries, though, to get it right.

I purchased mine from BrakeWorld. They sold me front and rear sensors for my GLC63. I was told that sensors do not need to be replaced IF you can get them out undamaged which is rare.

Just came in from installing the fronts. Having now seen the sensors, fitment, etc...I 100% agree. If it is not broken, just put it back. Mine came out with long nose pliers all good. Went for a ride...got some heat and some hard stops. These are initially very quiet and seem to perform reasonably well. I once replaced Brembos on an SRT8 with a 'clean pad'...can't recall the brand...and there was a difference. Will tackle the rears this weekend.

Got up early; had donuts and coffee and just finished the rears. Very easy. Just re-used the sensor. If labor to install pads is $300...then this was the best $300 I never spent.

How much are sensors? Are they the same for both the 43 and 63? I'll probably just order them if it's not an arm and a leg. Still deciding $106 for the R1 concepts and $300 for the disc italias. Big price difference

I paid like $7 for sensors.

A lot of us have had better luck with the Ceramic pads from RockAuto and they are really inexpensive.

A true 90% reduction in the annoying brake dust.

When you change your Front pad with the Hyper Ceramic did they come with a new metal front plate or you used your old one ?
Mine came without it .

You simply use the existing one. New ones do not come with the pads. Enjoy!

Thanks ! I did the rear yesterday .easy if you have the right tools .
When you did the front ,were you able to change the pads without removing the caliper by pushing the piston back ?
Another ? . I watch many video of front pads replacement on Mercedes and never found one specific to GLC43 . the front pads I received from Italia brake have a metal spring on each of them . Was that what you got ?
I will work on that this afternoon .
Thanks for your help

Once the pins are out and the old pads are still in place… use a flat screw driver to wedge between the old pad and rotor to retract the piston. This will allow enough room for the new thicker pads to slip in the opening. Reassemble. Enjoy!

Hmmm...I've been debating on which pads to get for my GLC 43. Thinking I might go ahead with these.

I haven't bought ordinary pads since 1999 !
And so advised my father....

Well since you're in the UK check out these....

Pops is rocking them up front on his Hyundai , bedded all wheels washed and this is the result 1 month later , fronts on the right , what a difference .

Working with R1 Concepts to get front and rear cermaic pads and the GEOMET drilled rotors for the rear (along with sensors and hardware). The price of all of those things is just over what a set Disc Italia front pads alone will cost.

Dust free brake pads

Andrew e coup : did you have to replace the rotors to put these ceramic pads on leave the old rotors on?? I dropped my 2019 GLC 63 off for service and told them I wanted to change to ceramic pads through Mercedes and was told by service tech that I had change rotors, pad and maybe some brackets because they weren't sure if the ceramic pads would fit the same as old pads !! any advice would help !!

~ no the brake rotors do not need to be changed when adding ceramic pads. now if the rotors are warped or heavily worn... perhaps you could replace them.

dealerships always want to replace rotors when they do brake pads... a big money maker for them.

I ended up installing these last month. The brake dust is definitely less, but I feel like the pads have to be warmed up before they fully grab. I purchased mine from BrakeWorld, too.

I’ve had the pads on for a while now. They still need to heat up before they stop well. I probably wouldn’t get them again when it’s time for a replacement. Especially not for the price. I had an incident where a car pulled out in front of me as I was leaving first thing in the morning so the pads were cold. I stopped in time, but it didn’t feel like I was going to.

Biggest disappointment to date. Read this forum and took it for fact.

Ordered from BrakeWorld “disc Italia” pads front and rear + brake sensors for each.

What they sent:
3/4 brake sensors
Brake pads missing springs
A cardboard box with zero quality control
Nothing was wrapped inside the shipping box
Front and rear pads were free-standing - no safety measures or packing

What I’ve done:
Called, emailed, texted each of their provided numbers or email addresses. Asked colleagues and family to contact on my behalf.

What happened:
As soon as they knew it was a complaint or my order number - ignored.
They’ve ignored every single avenue for 3 weeks now.

My fair warning:
Read their BBB reviews.
Read their Google reviews.
Avoid their business.

BrakeWorld has a long history of fraudulent advertising and avoidance of customer contact post-payment.
