Question Mercedes me Adapter - Australia

One for my Australian colleagues, my car is going in tomorrow to have a some issues with the intelligent lighting system addressed and my dealer has offered to install a "Mercedes me Adapter" for free. Just wondering if any one else has had one fitted and if its worthwhile? Cant say I'm very impressed with any of the COMAND internet functionality so Im a bit dubious about this? Any comments?

As far as I know its a little BT dongle that connects to your ODB2 port. The installation takes about 2 seconds. It will talk to an app on your phone via bluetooth to give you some information about the car and so on. Some of this features are already available with the "companion" app, without the need of any dongles.

I have it. You're not missing anything if you get it... but if you do get it, it will keep you entertained for about 5 minutes.
Admittedly I have only had it installed for 3 days but I can't say I find myself wanting to use the app. I would much prefer a CarPlay capable headunit for all my navigation and data.

All you get really:
- Hours parked
- Distance travelled
- Range left: km/ltr
- Your journeys - Distance from point A to B, Drive time, Driver rating (ie how much you mash the pedal)

But, I would get it installed. It's free. At least that way you won't feel like you're missing out

Thanks guys, Another piece of spyware masquerading as something useful. I think I have enough people spying on me now without MB knowing where I am as well. Probably as useful as the Trackpace app......
I'll give it a miss - Service guy said I had to spend 1/2 hr in the service dept to have it "configured".....
