I don't want to push my luck, but the wife may be the deciding factor, depending if she wants to wait for a special order or ship one in from another lot. Can I ask dealerships to offer anything special on top? Like service or warranty extras, etc or even add an additional discount for USAA/Military Veteran? I'm amazed they even came this far, considering the first dealership experience...I figured it would be similar or just as bad. Again, thanks for everyone's help and I'll keep everyone up to date when I either order or get an already built one.

Lastly....Running boards or no?
I got 11% off special order 2020 GLC43 if it helps...And we put a deposit back in June before car has been announced. I would think you can get a similar or better discount on 63 since they make more money on more expensive cars. Some people got free tint but I do not think I've heard that someone would get extended warranty for free.

running boards IMHO look odd on this car since it is small, they look way better on GLE/GLS.

Looks like I’m around 12% on an allotted 63 ($90k), just gotta get rid of the old car...within 4 days apparently. Fingers crossed I can get someone to unload the old car.

When I do get this deal done, I want to take it to the original dealership that wouldn’t work with me and shove it in their face....cough...Tysons Corner...cough cough

No you didn't over react. Thats absurd.

I just bought a 2019 GLC 63 and was able to negotiate between two dealers for a sales price of 74k on an MSRP of 87k.

Call around to a couple places and start asking what their best offer is. The difference is you will need to settle on what is in inventory, not ordering a new one that is spec'd out to exactly what you want.

If you're willing to make some concessions on the wish list of features then this is the way to go.

Glad I'm not completely unreasonable. Anyways, I did put my deposit down and magically enough got a little over $10k off $83k MSRP. The vehicle is in another state, so I'm waiting to hear back from my dealership on if it is still available and if they can ship it. Hopefully I'll get the good news later today and will post pictures when/if I get it delivered. Thanks everyone for the help, it has saved us a lot.

Well good news is that the vehicle is on a trailer headed this way. Should be about a week till it gets here. Signed the paperwork today and I had a question about the optional services they offered. Did anyone purchase these (7yr extended warranty, some kind of service plan for $3400, diamond protection plan, ceramic protection, etc)? I declined everything for now, but was told I could purchase it afterwards.

I put the ceramic coating and paint protective film on my entire 63. The ceramic coating is simply an alternative to wax and polish. The PPF prevents stains and discoloration. I went with Parabolical AutoSports in Columbia, MD. He is a real artist and his price was a couple of thousands less than other shops in MD and NOVA. He does a lot of high end cars for delerships in NOVA.

Will be nice to see photos when you get it. I’m going to order a 63S coupe with only a few options keeping MSRP around 87k hope to get 5% off that unless I can do a great deal for a lot car that doesn’t have 15k of unwanted extras.

So I will be following your progress eagerly and will post my progress once it starts.

I hear ya man. I originally went for one of the $90k lot cars, but I loosely use “settled” for the $83k. Only option I was bummed about losing was the wireless charging. Other than that, I was happy I got the deal I wanted and didn’t overpay for a bunch of unnecessary options. Overall I got 12% off and first month payment covered by MB. The manager was not happy because he thought we were doing this deal for the $90k (but I backed out on that car because it was outside of our budget) and my salesman still agreed to this discount. I take delivery next Weds or Thurs. I’m beyond excited and it sucks even having to wait this long.

Just fight for what you want and don’t be afraid to lowball them. I expected to get 7% at the most, so I was blown away when they offered this deal. Good luck on the purchase and hope you get what you want.

Skip all of these extras, IMO, and either do later or at a non-dealer shop. I personally would skip ceramic, but think PPF on the front of the vehicle at a minimum is totally worth it, especially if you do any highway driving. Congrats on the 63.

How is everyone getting 10-12% off MSRP? I just ordered a 43 but haven't started the negotiations yet. Of course they told me there won't be much room because it's a special order, but I don't believe it. Did you let them make the first move and offer you a discount, or did you ask for 12% and go from there? I'm very rusty on negotiating a car purchase, and I'm dreading it.

Rule number one in any negotiation, cars or otherwise, is that you never get something that you don't ask for. It doesn't hurt to ask as long as its reasonable. I reached out to multiple dealers asking for an allocation and started with a certain percentage off. Some told me to go fly a kite, some tried to meet me halfway, etc. I could have gotten a better price, but i wanted the car sooner, so build timing/allocation was worth a few % to me. If you have options locally, i would highlight the value you provide by servicing the car there, etc.

My other suggestions, always be willing to walk away, shop around, set some type of expectations up front (i.e. I wouldn't let them actually put in the build order without some agreement on price).

Re: the special order, i could see them asking for a higher deposit and it being non-refundable if you back out, but by ordering the car/picking it up immediately, you are actually helping them not hurting them.

I think it’s because you ordered. I considered it, but the best I could get was 8% off. So I found a lot car that had everything we needed. As for this deal, one dealer offer 10% and then another came over the top from this site and said 12%, then I kinda went back and forth with a couple dealerships. I mainly picked this one because it was the closest to my house.

Got a few more. Didn’t know until afterwards that the dealership included wheel locks and front window tint! God I love these rims!

It means you have street rep

On a more serious note, big congratulations on the car! It looks fantastic and to me it's always a treat to see an AMG GLC on the road (whether 43 or 63) because they seem to be more rare up in Boston/New England. On the other hand SQ5s, BMW X3s and Porsche Macans are a dime a dozen. That makes driving one of these more special IMO.

Graphite Gray. I thought it was black too when I first saw, but you can see the difference in person. Thanks!
