Question 2020 GLC 63s Coupe Exhaust Options

Hello, I'm new on MBworld. I've recently purchased a 2020 GLC63s Coupe. However, I'm not entirely satisfied with the exhaust sound. The difference with the OPF is very notable... the car sounds like its being restricted. I have friends who have older generation AMG's and they sound much louder. I'm now on the lookout to fix this issue and make the car louder. I would prefer to go with a Brabus exhaust system, but I can't seem to find any information regarding exhausts for the GLC63 on their website. Which exhaust or setup would you guys recommend to increase the sound? I'm interested to hear your thoughts and inputs on this issue.

I'm thinking either:
1) RennTech
2) SuperSprint
3) Capristo

Here are some pictures of the car:

2020 GLC63S AMG
Nice spec looks like a high MSRP, noiceee! I recommend getting downpipes from SSR Performance they already have the system out and for sale. I'm about to get mine after I hit 1K miles, also adds good power.

Just do downpipes and save the money for a lot more noise.

also keep in mind the car gets more loud over the course of driving it.

no more burple tune. Just the normal AMG pops and crackles which is more than enough for me

First question do you have the AMG performance exhaust option?

I’ve watched this video I‘m sure the exhaust sound problem can be fixed though.

I don't think it's an exhaust issue , look more like a mapping issue .
Some people from the US who did Factory delivery in Germany claim that the car was quite when picked up and the sound was much better (crack and pops) after picking it back here in the US .

I would also like to get Renntech catted down pipes fitted to my 2020 GLC. Can these be fitted to the OPF cars without an ECU tune to retain the warranty?

Yes, I believe it is a mapping issue as well, but I also think it an issue with the exhaust and OPF filter. Think about it this way: If someone where to tune the car but with stock exhausts, I'm sure it would sound much better than stock, but nowhere close to how good/loud it would sound with some downpipes.

Yes, you can, but it is not recommended as the car will not be running properly. A tune is always recommended when fitting exhaust systems.

Just replace the muffler with straights and don't look back:

Expensive aftermarket exhausts on this platform are a waste of money.

All of the most effective options will void warranty it seems. Has anyone used the RENNtech value controller on 20 model with decent results?

Thumbs up More volume on the lower REV's

I just recently installed the EVM mod from RENN, it is a little pricey for such a small module, but definitely worth the money if you're looking to increase the volume at lower RPM's without facing any warranty issues with Benz. I generally don't go all out pedal to the metal on my GLC so it's perfect for me. It's just not that economical where I'm at as the gas prices in Vancouver are a little absurd. But all in all, the EVM does increase the volume, in sport + and Race mode, you do get more pops and crackles which were non evident before the Module was installed and if you're asking about the in cabin noise. Well, I got to say it's manageable. But if it does get a little too much, you definitely can use the remote control it comes with to close it off and it returns to stock.

Also C63s - with the same engine and exhaust - sound louder, which shows there's a tuning difference as well.

GLC 63 s
Guys i have a question, I just bought a 2018 glc 63 s that didn't come with PE can i retrofit the catback of the PE with all the wiring and components ?

Cuz someone told me that the mid pipe or H pipe are the same on the 63 s i just need to install the catback.

I don't want to put after market the sound of the PE is fine for me because my car came with a standard exhaust no valves.

Some are but not all.

Capristo is DEFINITELY a waste of money. Essentially you are paying Titanium prices for a shiny - basically close to stock AMG system; heavy, stainless Catback that does improve the sound. However the sound is not worth $8,000…neither is the Catback.

On the 63s, there are 3 exhaust flaps, 2 on the Catback either side and one on the H-pipe. All 3 have wiring modules fitted to the stock system, so if your car didn’t come with the AMG exhaust - be surprised as I thought on 63’s that was an auto option; you would need the 3rd module for the H-pipe unless any aftermarket options you get don’t have that H-pipe flap. If so, then you should be good.

Has anyone managed to improve the sound profile of their facelift GLC63S with downpipe or catback, or both? Right now I'm looking at ASR/RennTech EVM because that won't void warranty, and also maybe after the first 1000miles RennTech HHT which is a piggyback I assume.
Mine didn't come with OPF but the sound is nowhere as close to the pre-facelift model.

I just want louder start up to annoy neighbors lol
