Anyone know of a way to reboot Distronic while in motion?

I was driving from California to my home in Washington and was about halfway thru Oregon when I got a bunch of warning lights and messages that distronic and all the other safety/tech stuff was inoperative. I hoped that the distronic would fail over to normal cruise control but no such luck. I pulled over at a rest area and restarted the car which reset everything but it wasn't too long before it happened again. I sit on a foam pad on long trips because the seat is uncomfortable and when I get a hot spot on my butt I'll move around and/or put a rolled/folded up towel under the spot and I found out that nearly every time I moved the towel or lifted myself off the seat it would cause the safeties to fail, presumably because of some switch or connection under the seat being jostled. I've used the same technique on several other trips with this car back and forth to California and this is the first time it's done this.
On one occasion the car threw a check engine light and it's at the dealer now getting worked on.

Another weird thing I noticed while the check engine light was on is that I got better gas mileage - 22-23 to 25-26 mpg but it stumbled and was laggy.

Anyone have a similar experience or know of a way to reboot it like the way you can reboot COMAND (CD eject button for 15 seconds)?

are you saying that the seats are so uncomfortable that sitting on some beads would make them more comfortable?

I am not a butt expert and I have never tried sitting on some beads but it makes sense. Being an avid cyclist, the most comfortable place I can sit is on my tiny, zero padding saddle. It is more comfortable that my $2,000 office chair.

It is all about pressure points. I actually sold my BMW because the seats were so uncomfortable, maybe I should have tried a bead?

The actual reason we get hot spots or pressure points is that poor seats make us use our thigh and butt muscles to stabilize ourselves and we get Myofascial trigger points in them causing pain. I never had any problems with my 2008 Tundra even driving 1200+ miles in a day but a few hundred miles in the GLC 63 and it takes a week to get back to normal.
