How does the tire pressure monitoring system work when we change to winter tires, do we really need to purchase the extra sensors for each tire?
If not do we get a warning displayed on dash?

I’ll let you know in a week or so, I have new winter tire setup, no TPMS, at 60 bucks for each I figured it wasn’t worth it for a winter package, I’ll live with whatever comes up..

I just spoke to dealer and they say they are not required and no warning light will appear, so nothing to disable. Will report back also if I do mine before yours.
Well no TPMS sensor and you get all sorts of warnings and icons,,,,lol
Thanks for relaying the info. I swear some dealer reps are clueless. They also told me I had run flats and I don't on top of me not getting any warnings if I don't get new sensors. You have proved this is not the case.
Is that inoperative wheel sensor on only on tire section?
And is the yellow tire always on?

I ordered with the sensors. Well worth it. There is a reason for TPMS.... It is hard to tell right away when these tires are low as the car compensates. Anything under 25 lbs is flat and you will destroy them. One tire and you could have paid for the sensors.

but keep an eye on things and check the pressures and all is good, at least for winters....I think the sensors were 70 bucks each give or take, almost the price of a new tire
the big 21 inch stock tires and rims, yup TPMS sensors are worth it, glad they came with them
but my GLA don’t have sensors and it’s been fine
it all comes down to how much the vehicle owner pays attention as well.
