GLC COUPE 63s AMG
GLC Coupe 63s AMG

I have a 2019 GLC Coupe 63s AMG which is destroying itself. Mercedes does not make mud flaps for the car. There are no aftermarket ones for it either. Believe me I have tried them all. The problem is a design flaw. The front wheels sit outside the front wheel wells and it throws road debris to the rear of the car. After 20k miles rear black molding is all torn up like a cheese grader went over it. Rear door panels are also being chipped. I contacted Mercedes and they replaced the molding but I am now concerned about the door paint. I now have 42k on the car and the molding is torn up again. Mercedes refuses to correct the design flaw by creating some type of flap to prevent this from happening. I drive mostly highway miles. I am wondering if any of you are experiencing the same issue? Apparently this only happens on the GLC 63s coupe AMG model. The 43's have mud flaps. They do not fit this car. I am contacting an attorney to file a potential class action against them for this design flaw. Input is welcome.

Mine is a tad beat up but this has been the case with every car I have owned after 20,000 miles. It makes me sick to look at the front of my car but hey...it's a car that gets driven and gets driven hard.

Yeah, but this is actually caused by the front wheels throwing debris into the rear quarter panels. Major design flaw.

Not a design flaw. This happens with performance cars that have a wide stance. The wheels are pushed out farther for better cornering and wider track. You don't find mud flaps on performance cars. If this is an issue for you where you drive, then perhaps a 63S wasn't the right car. There are ways to deal with it. The paint can be protected with paint protection film. Many of us do this, especially the front half of the car, but you can PPF the entire car to protect it from anything that gets thrown up by the front wheels. The molding is a different story. That's just plastic and can be replaced.

Agreed here. I've had this issue on so many [staggered] performance cars; namely C7 Z06, 997 GT3, 981 GTS, etc. PPF is the solution there (for painted areas obviously).

Not really a flaw, just a thing you deal with on a performance car.

My "fast car" throws crap everywhere.
