Starting Trouble. One crank and stops. Eventually Starts.

Hey all,
I got in my GLC this morning and hit the start button. The starter turned once, and then nothing. All lights/radio/accessory is on with no problem. Pressed the button about 4 more times, and same issue. It cranks once and then stops. Not a weak or slow crank, and battery has sufficient charge. No warning signals on. I hit the button it a fifth time, and it starts right up.
Drive to work is completely normal.
Got to work and turned the car off. Tried to restart it to see if the issue was one off.... did the same thing. Even does it with the key inserted in the ignition. So far has eventually started after the .5 second crank a few times. Any body experienced anything similar?

Was told the starter buttons can be temperamental and can fail. Take out the button and use the key it should work with no issues. I am planning on getting mine fixed soon.

If you are not driving on longish journeys, the charging of the battery is affected. In my case, a few longer runs stopped this happening.

Happened to me a few times when my battery was a bit low. After a full charge using a battery charger, all was good again..

Just curious. Do you use your auto start/stop function consistently?

Nearly never, however after using my NOCO smartcharger, it seems the issues were caused by low battery power after the car hadn't been started for 5 days. A bit concerning in itself, but a battery charge issue none the less.
