Tire Pressure TPMS

Can I reset TPMS or does dealer have to? Apparently, at delivery of my 21 GLC 43 with 21” tires the dealer set TPMS at max PSI- 44# rear, 38# front as listed on gas filer flap for 5 people. Whenever I try to reduce PSI for 2 people at 33# f/r, I get error message to check tire pressure. Very frustrating.

Note to self: If all else fails, read manual. Scrolling up on tire pressure screen, gives opportunity to reset.

Mystery: The tire pressure decal on my door pilar, indicates 8.5” front rims and 9.5” rear rims per my 21” tires. VIN specs indicate 8.5” f/r. How can I find my rear rim size w/o removing wheel?

The black sticker with the VIN should be the correct info. the specs also matches the 2021 order guide.

There is no mention of 9.5" rear rim on invoice or VIN lookup; nor is there any mention of staggered wheels. Do 8.5 f, 9.5 r rims come standard with staggered wheels?

For GLC43 with the 21” wheel option, the rims/tires are a staggered setup - 8.5” front and 9.5” rear. You will also see that the tire sizes are different front to rear.
You can reset the tpms yourself through the service menu (where you go to see the actual pressure (at least on my 2018 GLC43). First set/adjust the pressure to what you want on each tire and then reset the tpms. The system will now use the new pressures to monitor.
