anyone wired dashcam or radar detector to the mirror?
I am a big fan of mirror tap wires when you can easily hookup your device to the mirror and when you turn off the car, device will be turned off as well (switched power vs. constant on power).
Clearly folks with GLC 300 do this thing but I just found out that on my wife's GLC 43 2020 the power to the mirror is always on. Anyone knows why? I did wire dash cam the hard way to the rear fuse box but was hoping to power radar detector right from the mirror. Another odd thing that both front left and right fuse boxes do not have switched power as well. What a pain.
I did test with a voltmeter, waited for car to turn off completely, waited for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes - radar detector would not power off from mirror. I also noticed that colors of wires on GLC 300 2020 differ from my wires on GLC43 2020. Instead of green wire that apparently positive, i have yellow wire - it is positive but power is constant.
Is this a "feature" of GLC AMG?
