Rattle sound on GLC250d Steering Wheel

Rattle sound on GLC250d Steering Wheel

Hi, my 3.5 years GLC250d gave rattle noise likely from steering wheel while driving. The sound comes and goes. It happened 10% of the time and not always. I asked MB Service center and they never experience this kind of sound. Before any dismantle, I would like to hear if someone has any advise. Sound clip was attached here.

Honestly it’s hard to say without firsthand experience with your car. In my case it was the speaker grill that was rattling. It took me a while to locate that though, it wasn’t until I placed my hand on it that I had found it.

If it’s not that then It could be one of many things, yet at least it is one less possibility to knock off the list. 😂👍

Are you certain the rattle is coming from the steering wheel, I used to have a rattle on my 2017 C-Class sedan coming from the driver side vent for example.

Another possibility which I still investigate is the steering wheel position not engaged (moving downward) after engine start. This morning I noticed steering wheel not moving downward after engine start and I have to reopen and slam the door close again, then it moved down. Still not sure if this could be the reason. Have to wait until the sound comes again and I'll see what is the steering wheel position.
