Transmission disengages into N from D while in D
The other day, during normal driving at a weather of about 40F and while being stopped at a light in "D", my 2021 GLC 43 (a little over 22k miles) seems to have disengaged its transmission from D into N. Sequence of events:
1. With Autostop off (usually drive with it off), I am stopped at a red light at an intersection. At longer lights, I usually use the brake HOLD feature, which I did that time.
2. Traffic light turns green, I place my foot on the gas pedal, press it normally (car shows the transmission is still in D), the engine revs but the car does not move. It is as if the transmission just disengaged into neutral.
3. I pressed the gas pedal, same thing -- revs up, car does not accelerate.
4. I changed the gear from D position into P, then back into D
5. Gas pressed, car drives fine
I have had this happen a couple of other times around 9-10k miles on ODO and it was also during colder months (Chicago weather). Then, it just seemed to go away. I told the dealer about it once, they said they checked the computers and no codes were found or problems with transmission on their end. My personal opinion is that this is related to colder weather due to my experience, but I can't really prove it.
Any clarifications on what's potentially going on would be helpful as it is quite jarring for everyone in the vehicle to go through this at a busy light. Otherwise, the truck has been great.
