3rd year / 30k mile maintenance
I’m scheduling my upcoming 3-year maintenance and have had difficulty determining the required services at each maintenance interval. The dealer's service advisor mentioned several items, including transmission and differential service, but an independent mechanic suggested these may not be necessary. I want to avoid unnecessary services while following Mercedes' official maintenance guidelines. However, I couldn't find clear information after reviewing the owner’s manual and all related supplements. As you can imagine, the suggested services total over $2,000.

- transmission fluid service
- differential fluid service
- air filter
Can anyone point me to this information? I plan to stop going to the dealer after the warranty runs out, and I do not need them for potential warranty claims. Thank you!

Mercedes used to publish maintenance schedule booklets, but apparently abandoned them to save $ and give dealers more flexibility in recommending service schedules. The attached booklet is from 2016, but provides guidance for what was being recommended back then.

The sheet I have for X253 looks the same. 30k mi/3 year service is engine oil, engine air filter, rear diff oil change, transmission oil/filter change.
