Inconsistency rant.
I noticed the other day that when driving my GLC43 in eco mode, Glide doesn't work when Auto stop/start is disabled...this is somewhat disappointing. I don't like auto stop/start, but I do enjoy Glide.
Also, even though I have the vehicle configured for imperial values (temperature and miles), when I go to the Engine Data screen, the temperatures for oil and transmission are in Centigrade...but what is really annoying is the inconsistency of the torque being in ft-lbs and not newton meters...This random mish-mash of values is rather annoying. It's like Mercedes took their task *ALMOST* to completion then figured, "who cares, nobody will notice". I've noticed these kinds of inconsistencies all throughout the software system. It's like the software has not been fully thought out. Mercedes may be experts at mechanics, but as far as UI software? They really do suck!

As for Glide mode, that's by design. Glide mode is only active if Auto Start/Stop is enabled. The required conditions are all explained in the owner's manual. Depending on the model, the engine even shuts off during gliding, so it's quite logical that it is tied to Auto Start/Stop.

As for Glide Mode, my engine does not shut down in Glide Mode. What I notice is that the transmission doesn't downshift in Glide Mode and that the engine RPMs drop to around 500 and the tires free-spin. Like putting the transmission in neutral.
I would love to know how to go in and set these temps to Fahrenheit...

Yes, in your case the transmission decouples and the engine keeps idling. Nonetheless, Auto Start/Stop has to be enabled for Glide mode to work.
