Most Wanted Mods

Hi all, new to the forum. Just wanted to post about my experience with mwmods.com. where I purchased a stage 1 tune and suspension lowering module. This was the EASIEST experience I've ever had from order to implementation. Customer service was great and installation of the tune was super easy. After the initial 5 miles or so, the tune kicked in and man you can feel the difference!!! Highly recommend you all checking them out.

Glad to hear. My lowering module is from them and I’m very happy with it.

The Mercedes engines have a two stage oil pressure switch. At engine speeds under 3,000 RPM (there-abouts) the oil pressure defaults to low pressure and does not enable the oilers under the piston so the piston skirts are not being bathed in oil. Only at higher RPMs does this switch switch over to the higher oil pressure where the piston oilers kick in.
These AMG engines have a problem with cylinder scuffing, especially on the 4.0L. And given that the cylinders are only hardened with a very thin coating, a scuffed cylinder means the engine needs to be replaced.
You should look into the Oil Pressure switch delete online and think about implementing this as a "mod" considering that you now are running a Stage 1 tune (if you go to Stage 2, then you SHOULD do the oil pressure switch delete).
Just something to think about...

I used their lowering module for awhile but ended up getting lowering links to have more control over the ride height instead of just the two presets on their module. I used their stage 1 tune and it was awful. Huge hiccup in first gear (trying to manage tq) and got engine lights almost immediately. Removed it immediately...

And, there is no such thing as a tune "kicking in" or "learning." Other than LTFT... a tune is immediate and doesnt really change.

Would the excess being put in at lower rpm’s not be more harmful than lean in the upper rpm range?

3k rpm is low so I’d assume Mercedes-AMG already assumes exceeding the threshold often?

interesting if you know more to explain even more.

I ordered their Stage 1 tune and lowering module and installed this weekend. Car looks great lowered and with the stage 1 "comfort" feels like sport mode. I had questions if the tune had installed, and they were able to verify that it was. Great customer service. Highly recommend them.
