Hi, all the AMG wheels on my 2018 GLC have become a bit darker over time, likely from brake dust or pad/disc residue. What is the best safe way to clean them without damaging the finish? If the discoloration is embedded, can it be fixed at home or does it need professional refurbishment?
Simple Green - period. Plus, it wont eat your hands or kill your lawn.
Actually SG can cause the finish on our expensive rims to cloud up. I've been using Adams Iron and water at 50/50 ratio with great success. Iron has a very low PH which is safe for our rims. In the case of the OP, I would use Iron undiluted which is still safer than SG.
