In the US, taxes are different in each of the 52 states. I'm lucky to live in a state with no sales tax and low registration fees.
Not good news, my "production date" has now slipped 15 days from 2/27 to 3/14. My sales guy says the 3 they have an order for 1st & 2nd decade of February have end dates of 3/14, 15 & 16 now. He nor I do not know what's going on. Short on parts? Production issues? EPA/DOT approval? Or just marketing timing?

The launch date has been moved from 2/16 to 3/23

If postponing the launch and moving back production dates means improved quality control, I'm all for it. I'd rather take delivery a month or two later and get a well-built GLE. As I said before, Spring is beautify time to buy a new car.

I got an email this afternoon from the sales manager that my production date was also moved to March 15. Not a big deal for me as long as they build me a quality GLE.
We know Daimler is anxious to get the GLE to market!

Looking like April more and more. The release of cars to the Bloggers may mean we are getting closer though. Auto week featured the GLE recently even though it was an older review from the Texas event. Most reviews are superficial, still waiting for some comparisons and more in depth like Autogefuhl!

Likely, in depth and comparison reviews are embargoed until the dealer launch. March 23 if same as Germany.
My dealer manager says my GLE450 is still scheduled at end of March as original without any push back. I ordered it in early January.
My first decade March is still unchanged but based on the others changing it might still change as we get closer to that date. Unless the E ABC or some other component is the reason for delay instead of the acknowledged (by Mercedes) production delays with the GLE. I’m not sure of when the Feb 1st decade order dates changed but it was probably about the time they were scheduled.
FYI - Received this from my dealer the other day. Seems like the MSRP's are established. And yes I know this seems pricey for GLE but it is fully loaded and will replace my 2015 S Class.
So I had a discussion with my salesperson about the suspension option that we will get. As per his explanation we will get what he called basic Airmatic. He explained that this is not a normal multi chamber air suspension, but there will be something like an air bag with the steel spring that can raise the car with a specific pre-selected height. The car can be raised with a button or when I select the offroad in the dynamic select. Is anyone familiar with something like this or maybe I understood him wrongly.

Yes you have the basic air suspension as part of the E-ABC package and it’s a lot more than just air bags. You need to know which package you got. If it’s E-ABC then......This is the first vehicle to have the ability to control each unit individually. There is quite a bit of detail and discussion previously on this thread. The fastest way to get some info is to Google Mercedes E-ABC and it will give you details as well as some YouTube video with demos. There is a good overview in the Dealer Order Guide, (DOGj. Also go to Future Vehicle on Mercedes Web and page down to 2020 GLE.
if just regular Air then there hasn’t been much new info disclosed. One would assume that it’s unchanged from prior years.
