GLE 450 Pricing Worksheet
I hadn't posted my spreadsheet in while; some of the newbies may not have seen this. I believe this is up to date through the 4/2 DOG. See attached.

Fabbrisd1 or any MB insider know if production is back on track? Or planning to be back on track soon ? Must be some sort of back up plan right ?

My dealer had a 450 come in last week and sold it within the same day. So, if you get tired of waiting for your order and give up on it, they will have it sold to someone else in a flash after you put all the work and worry into it.

New GLE delays
I’m here in the UK still waiting for my 300 Gle with a tech pack. First ordered Dec 18 for Feb production and March 8th delivery. Production date pushed back 9 times! My dealer told me a week ago that the car probably wasn’t going to turn up!
Offered my same but in polar white rather than metallic blue with a 15 May delivery! This week even so I’m told with the car built that’s been pushed back to 30th May. Lost all confidence in MB they can’t/won’t tell me what is going on.
If if it wasn’t for finding this forum I would be non the wiser.
Wish id gone for X5 but always been a loyal MB fan.
Thanks for the inputs on this frustrating issue.

You made the best choice by ordering a GLE (in competition with the X5 and the Q7).
But, clearly, there is something odd with you order. You compatriots placed their order 2 or 3 months after yours and they will get their GLE soon (look at the thread "Got the GLE300D for the day").
And with a GLE 300d in the UK there is not much choice or options: the production should be quite straightforward. Beside that you ordered a simple option!
Did you place your order directly through a MB dealership? If so, how much discount did you get?

Don't crack under pressure!

Did get a decent discount just short of 12%

You got a very good discount. That's maybe the reason why your production has been delayed so many times: maybe the dealership gives priority to more recent orders with less discount (because there are production delays). That's just a thought without any evidence.

That’s a thought mind you Daimler are blaming production delays in US for the slippage in their financial results. I would think they would want as many units sold. UK market is all about numbers rather than margins.

For sure the UK market is all about numbers: you can get amongst the cheapest Mercedes in the world.
However, LSH is a reseller, and in Europe unlike the US, the discount burden is on the reseller shoulders, not on Mercedes'

Did any of you guys get some sort of a confirmation from your dealer that your order was accepted?
I ordered May 4th, and was wondering as to when I should expect an estimated date from my dealer.

Production status
The dealer should be able to give you a PO# with an estimated decade (10-day period) for production. Until you have the PO you don't really have an order in the system. Further along you will get a production date, which is when the car should be complete. But, both of those dates have been subject to being pushed back as you can tell from this thread. Hopefully, they are getting things stabilized somewhat and will be able to hold schedules in the future.

The latest instructions from the factory was that dealers are not to give estimated delivery dates until they know the built car is actually en route to the dealership. Prior to that instruction my ETA was pushed back 10 times! Eventually gave up on the blue one as told they had better visibility on a white one.

Here in the US a customer can choose to cancel at any time before delivery - for any reason - or choose to go forward as delivery is updated. If customer "cancels" any deposit is really "earnest money" and refundable on cancellation.

My bill of sale states the following:
"If the motor vehicle has not been delivered in accordance with this contract within 30 days following the estimated delivery date, the consumer has the right to cancel the contract and to receive a full refund, unless the delay in delivery is attributable to the consumer."
The funny thing is that on that same bill of sale, they entered my Delivery Date as May 4th which is when I actually ordered the vehicle.

2020 GLE 450 AMG exterior
Hi everyone,
I just found this forum while looking for info about why it's taking so long for my GLE450 to get built. Thanks to everyone for the information you all have supplied. It's unfortunate that I'm not the only one experiencing a delay, but I guess misery loves company.
I ordered mine (no E-ABC) on March 21 and I was told the original production date would be April 15. When the day arrived and I checked in on its status, I was told it would be April 30. Once again, I checked in and once again I was told it was not ready and they aren't sure when it will be, but promised I won't be disappointed. Well, I'm already disappointed that it's already been seven weeks and I have no clue when it will be completed.
Anybody have any advice on how to "track" its progress? The sales manager and sales person have said MBUSA won't give them a date. I've looked everywhere for similarly equipped GLEs, but the only two I have found are in Polar White, which is about the only color I don't like. I don't really plan to wait until Aug/Sept, but frankly there's not another car on the market that meets my needs (third row) and wants (the tech, AMG styling) that I like as much as the GLE. I test drove a Q7 and liked it, although I would never buy one that doesn't have the comfort seat package - the regular seats are horribly uncomfortable. But at this price point, it would feel like a disappointment to not get the star on the grille (and the amazing technology that comes with it).
I have a PO#, but I don't know what to do with it to find out when it might be completed. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks again!
