At fixed margin - no extra incentive - makes any dealer reluctant to do a "trade search" - the only added incentive for a dealer is at absolute end-of-the-month - where dealers will be more open minded to go flat out as much as invoice - to get the added new car "punch" to help make their monthly new car units sales goals (with end-June being month-end and end-of-quarter as well).
Tried to email my sales guy yesterday for an update and got a bounced email back. Found out that he left the dealership, so I was passed on to another sales rep.
The new sales rep took my info and said he'd call me back in 10. Three hours later I called him and he told me the system is down so he can't check but as soon as he can he will call me back.
Nothing till this morning so I called the General Manager. They are giving me a bunch of info that I don't understand or really care about (something about a build by MB and a spot system etc.).
Finally was told that the person who can solve this and access the build will be back Monday. So I guess I will wait till Monday and see what happens. Either way, she said, probably September delivery.
Mind you this is one of the top 3 NYC dealerships. Sure as ***** won't be doing business with them in the future, unless they magically handle this to my upmost satisfaction next week.
Frankly - GLE350 "shipments to dealer's" is bouncing up - with the # of GLE450's on the rise as well. "Most" dealers got a bump-up in deliveries over this past 10 days.
That said - a dealer has ZERO control over what is being complete - if you had 5 or 6 GLE's delivered this past week - there is no rhyme or reason "why" those particular units (and not customer untis) are being delivered.

My car was supposed to be final inspection June 6th not sure what that means. But as of today the dealer GM and sales said the factory is not responding to their request. So I guess the car still not ready yet. Not sure what’s going on.

That blows. The “update” I got from my dealer today is that the car is still in B4 and they “confirmed accessory update” for the umpteenth time on May 15. That’s the first thing that’s changed since April 4, soooo progress?

Mercedes benz you really messed this thing up.
If it makes you feel any better, I text my sales rep about once every week or two and I only put down $1,000. I don't care if I'm being a pain in the ***. If MBUSA communicated better with us, we wouldn't have to keep bugging their sales reps.

It's his friggin' job to make the customer happy (not that he can cover for MBUSA). I put nothing down and communicated with my sales guy several times a week for periods. He sent me any updates or DOGs I requested. That's what customer service is all about. Next time get a better sales guy (or just buy from fabbrisd1 in Arkansas!).
I ordered two cars within 30 days of each other the GLE450 and a E450 Cabriolet (wife car). For months I got a text update from my sales guy at least 3 times a month, always with a positive spin. He actually texted the ship name the E450 was on and I followed it online daily. He sent the tech guy to my house today and we programmed the 3 garage doors and spent an hour customizing the settings in both cars.
All I know is that I will probably never order another Mercedes again. They really dropped the ball on this one.
If the 450 keeps me happy when it eventually comes in, I might consider buying an MB that is in stock in the future.
Never again going through this process. A car released in March shouldn't take 8 months to build.
Ordered our GLE 450 on March 11 and was told to expect it sometime in June - just heard from our salesperson today that it was "loaded on the trailer" and we should be able to pick it up next week!

I checked my order status today. Since a week ago my status has progressed from B4 to D3 (VPC Delayed). Here are the details:
So the car lingered in status B3 for 3 months until production was started on May 31. Production was completed 10 days later. I think that it shows that the production line is running at normal speed now and they are working off the order backlog. My order includes most of the options that have been suspected of having parts problems, including e-ABC.
From what others have reported here, there appears to have been numerous orders that were already in production when things ground to a halt. Those cars were partially built and then sent into exile somewhere around Tuscaloosa. There is probably a separate rework line, apart from the normal production line, in operation that is working off this backlog.
I hope things speed up from here. My SR says to expect delivery in late June.

A few posts like yours may (MAY) indicate a trend that at least for later orders things are moving back toward what would normally be expected. Let's hope that trend continues!
I was betting on for MB to try making their Q2 better therefore my 450 would be built and shipped out before end of June. At this time i don’t think so. My dealer said the car is park somewhere else away from the factory and they might be building it in some other warehouse.
