none waiting on my GLE in TX
That is pretty close to what I ordered and I'm in Longview. But, I need the third row of seats to carry my twin granddaughters.

Here’s a better one from another Article of the Airpot storage. Mercedes confirmed the reports but wouldn’t confirm any number.

What a nightmare, I think even when the house is on fire they will still tell the public it’s normal.

A gaggle of MB's
For specific "feature specs" especially GLE450... this is the scenario I went over with one guy 10 days ago...
-------------------------------------
"Regarding one forum member's GLE450 order - from the North East - currently "scheduled" for October 2nd decade build - that member was thinking to look for a "comparable" GLE450 on the ground now.

I took the opportunity to do some "fact checking" - specifically with his well equipped GLE450 order - based on three of the Key Options - AMG Exterior Package + MBUX Tech Package + Airmatic Suspension:

1. For End-August - 3 rigs were delivered to NE dealers in the past 2 weeks

2. For End-August - 4 rigs show at VPC for NE - all 4 show "Delayed at VPC"

3. For End-August - 2 rigs show "Produced Not Released" with 1 of those 2 already marked "Return to Plant"

4. For End August there are 56 rigs on open order from the NE dealers

Based on this factual info at this - I think it would be reasonable to agree that "not all" of these particular 56 (back-ordered and ordered units for the Northeast ) are are going to be delivered this year - right ?
---------------------------------

I'm frankly not surprised that particular order "slipped" another month already...

Frankly - on "backordered" GLE's... folks might consider looking for on-the-ground comparable's.....

December 22 order. April build. B4 in April changed to B5 this week. Very close to deal on a Q7 but I guess we will give it another week to see if the car is really built?

Not just SUVs, but quite a few sedans there, as well.

Interesting only the Tuscaloosa paper reported anything about more than 3 times that many parked all around vacant lots near the factory. I wonder what they will report for a loss from this issue next quarter...1.5 billion??.

Today's Daimler press release

"Sales in the NAFTA region increased by a double-digit rate for the second month in succession to 29,678 units (+20.9%). As before, a key driver of sales growth in the region is its core market, the United States, where 24,771 Mercedes-Benz cars were sold in August (+21.8%). From January to August, sales of 196,779 units approached the prior-year level (-1.2%). Deliveries in Canada last month also increased by a double-digit percentage.

Mercedes-Benz unit sales by model

Sales in the SUV segment increased for the first time this year due to the positive impact of the model changes: approximately 61,800 units sold in August of the GLA, GLC, GLC Coupé, GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS and G-Class represent a growth of 8.7%. The main effects of the recent model changes came from the upgraded generation of the GLC and the new GLE – both also reached a new high in August. Deliveries of the new G-Class increased by a strong double-digit rate last month and in the first eight months of this year have already surpassed the record level of full-year 2017."

LOL. They reported a loss of 1.24/share for Q2 on over a billion shares outstanding (see link below). Have they switched to monthly earnings reporting now? First public company to report monthly earnings. COOOL.

It is but BigBoy11 said they reported record earnings two months in a row. So I guess I was being facetious. Now claiming record sales 2 months in a row. I haven’t seen those figures.

Curious as to how they define "sales". Is it purchase contracts signed and deposits received or actual vehicles delivered? I don't believe that the monthly sales figures are subject to audit; they're industry reports.

Often manufacturers count them as sold once they out the back door at the factory and billed to the dealer, not sure what MB does. Can’t imagine dealers wanting to pay juice on units sitting in purgatory on a storage lot somewhere.

Either way it’s somewhat of a moot point because, not surprisingly, they did not report two consecutive months of record sales. Turns out you can believe everything you read in a group forum. Thanks for the input though, BigBoy.

My GLE came into the dealer yesterday. It was filthy dirty on the exterior. Obviously out in the elements since April when status was shown as built. I spoke with a different dealer in July who said he saw it as built in the system since April and should be delivered any day. He is a friend of a friend. He said do not take that car at sticker price. He said if the car was coming to him he would take at least 3k off sticker and would get that from MB. He is connected with larger dealerships and may have more power than my dealer. Has anyone received a discount on the delayed GLE’s? My dealer said it wasn’t likely that MB would offer anything but the 1k “gift card” that I was already allotted. I asked that they call again and get at least 5k. I have certainly spoken up to MBUSA even to the point of emailing the VP of customer service — twice. I got return calls with no information and expressed my disappointment in the entire process and handling of the launch. I said customer service was not just a call back, but was actually handling the issue or providing some information. Anyone else successful getting a discount?[img]blob:https://mbworld.org/b52cde10-bd40-40...1-0d857da91d0f[img]blob:https://mbworld.org/ee7b4135-a334-41...2-5a80b5ebec6e

2019 A Class Mercedes Benz
I had a 7 month wait with no vehicle A Class A which to date has not been delivered to my dealer. My dealer got one from another dealer with approximately $1,400 of additional options for which I did not have to pay. I don't know of MB or the dealer absorbed the cost of the additional options. MB may have absorbed some of the cost. Good luck, Joe

Have you taken delivery yet? Certainly that's not the as-delivered condition?

I have not taken delivery. That was how it came in. It has been washed and looks much better, but still looks like may have some issues. I had an E350 delivered 12 years ago from a California dealer. I took it off the truck in much better condition than this. I guess I am just leery because it has been outside in the elements since April and to me this just shows how little care there has been for these cars in the interim.
