No, control #s are not model specific however their usage is.
MB corporate issues guidance on which models qualify for the discount. Typically, new models or full redesigns are excluded for 90 days.
But with the GLE, latest I hear is that they have changed it to 180 days (likely because of the prod issues)

Employee Discount (often called Friends & Family) is different program than Fleet Discount - both use Control#'s to verify the discount - but two separate "discount" programs.
On Fleet Programs - you have a CAN# for your company - then if you meet the company's requirements you are issued a Control# (Certificate) that gets entered into your Sales Docs.
I "think" Fleet discounts on GLE are running about $500... each month the Fleet Discounts are recalculated for that month - based on # of units and # of weeks supply in the MB pipeline.
