Good news! At the beginning of the month we launched a new firmware release for the CPLAY2air adapter which now supports these brands that we personally tested:

• Land Rover;
• Jaguar;
• Nissan;
• Honda, including Accord and others;
• Mercedes-Benz the newest MBUX 2020 system with USB-C (requires additional adapter from USB-A to USB-C);
• Audi 2020;
• If you have a USB-C system, it requires an additional adapter from USB-A to USB-C.

We are certain it supports more brands but due to the current worldwide situation, we couldn't test them all. If you have a CPLAY2air adapter and not compatible vehicle, please send us an email at support@carplay2air.reamaze.com for manual update instructions on Windows PC, or you can update the firmware online on a compatible car.

All CPLAY2air adapters purchased from the 4th of November include a new firmware release, you can purchase a CPLAY2air adapter here.

Please do not reply to this email as we will not get your email, use the support@carplay2air.reamaze.com instead.

The German GLS Pricelist states that the GLS has got wireless Apple Carplay!
Anyone that can confirm this?
Maybe an upgrade is available for already delivered GLE/GLS, does anyone have any details?

Pretty bummed to hear about wireless CarPlay not being supported. That was a feature I was really looking forward to. I guess I'll have to buy that adapter mentioned in this thread now that it supports the GLE.

I really like CarPlay for the seamless integration into Apple Music, my primary music streaming service. I'm just curious how MBUX interfaces with Apple Music through its media player? Can it read and play my playlists? I hear it'll pull album art from Gracenote, does this need the wifi service? Am I at all able to search for artists/music outside of my playlists, or have the voice assistant pull up a song by name?

I can't use both thumb USB and smartphone from type-C in the front center console area and inside the center console...
is that type-C hub problem?

How would one use both at the same time?

Just FYI...Apple car play and the center console usb work fine together and I switch between them without issue using the menu. By center console, I refer to the jacks in the center arm rest.

That's what I meant. How many USB-C jacks are in your center arm rest? I think I only have one.

i'll give it another shot, but my USB-C jack in my armrest doesn't seem to work with the wireless carplay adapter... just the "assigned" one in the dash/charge pad

You cant transmit all that data like live navigation over Bluetooth, you need a wired connection, they aren't idiots.

Based on some of the aftermarket solutions I've looked into, the wireless CarPlay/AA solutions use Wifi, not bluetooth to transfer data. The GLE already has the Wifi infrastructure so it certainly is possible if they choose to implement it.

I use Waze or Google maps just fine with wireless CarPlay in my Porsche. I’m sure MB can figure it out.

They are not only stupid, blind as well! See how they placed cigarette lighter socket! If you have USB C cables plugged in, how do they propose opening the flap and plug in the anything in the socket?

Height of Stupid Engineering! Well I would not even call that engineering!

This is the one area that BMW really blows MB away. The screen on the GLE looks like ****. And we have to connect via a cable. What a joke!

I actually put this wireless pad on top of the aforementioned device.
The whole thing fits perfectly and I can just throw my phone on top.
It charges and auto connects carplay. Works great!

It's 2022 now, I just bought GLE 350, no wide/split screen. MBUX sux. Cheap greedy Mercedes Benz!

It's not apple car play, it's stupid mbux sux again! My 2022 GLE 350 has stupid looking half screen.
However my 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe has full wide screen with split screen capability. Same phone!

Completely disagree, I tried very hard. MBUX Nav always showed completely illogical weird, longer routes to interior roads. Always.
No way, they are beating google (Or even waze, the way it has performed with me!)

Yes, that huge 12" screen is even more amazing in real life!
If you get a chance to drive Calligraphy trim, it beats GLE 350 in heart beat!
It actually does not make me miss my Beamer when I need power (310 T/290 horses under the hood).
Interior looks better than Mercedes and its NAPA leather (included).
And you get wireless charger! Ha ha.

It drives/feels more than mercedes.
Driver Assist is simply phenomenal.

Since I bought both together, I will see which one holds out better as years pass!
I think Merc is a rip off when I compare it to Santa Fe.

The only good things about GLE 350:
- Phenomenal suspension system (Because of that, exceptional handling)
- Feels like sitting in solid tank (feels safer, sturdier, true drivers feel)
- Fake name sake (Not sure why).

You say this without looking at it. I own both and I can vouch for it.
Which car has more maintenance/breakdown cost? If they actually "engineered" merc, it would have less "cost to own".
Look how merc "placed" cigarette socket, If you have cables connected (Of course you do, there is no wireless charger!)
how do you propose to plug anything there?
I have installed the tow hitch (factory) on Merc, now I can't use the kick open trunk feature, is that "engineering"?

Hyundai has confidence in their "engineering" to offer 7 years warranty, dare Merc, they would
be surely bankrupt.
