  • Key issue, like so many others.
  • "ticking" noise from driver door (or b-pillar) when going through bumps. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, its annoying. This is different than rattle noise, its more like "tick" "tick" noise.
  • Rain sensing wiper sometimes goes to full speed for no reason
    https://youtu.be/QZq9jmeRdtc
  • Wiper "skip" when is annoying even on a clean windshield (see the same video above, near the end, you can hear the noise).
  • Also, this only happen one time, but I was driving, and all a sudden, the car give the 3 beep warning indicating collision warning, and the seat belt pull super tight. The car didn't brake or anything, just the beeps and seat belt tightening (you can hear the seat belt noise at the same time as the beep). After a second or two, it release itself
    https://youtu.be/4nK_G4eNiWw
Most of the item above is minor. It is annoying, but not a major issue. The only thing I have concern is the last item. Not sure why it kicks in in the first place, but the other side is, if it thinks a collision is going to happen, why did the emergency braking not kick in?
I have a 2016 GLE350 4Matic and get the same Beeping and Rwd Warning ⚠️ Sign, as if collision is about to happen. Of course it’s absolutely clear in front of me, no vehicle I’ve brought it to the sealer, they looked at it but no resolve. I’ve given up on it when it beeps and flashes, I just keep on driving. Sigh 😔

Unfortunately but this is a safety issue. Make sure you go to the dealer every time it happens. Then push hard for MBUSA to replace your car. They react when it is a safety related issue.

- List of problems I’ve had/ having-
1. Week 1: noticeable engine vibrations at idle. Engine light. The dealership still has no “fix” for the problem.

2. windshield wiper “tapping” the driver side of the window screen/ windshield wipers skipping/chattering. So annoying. The dealership readjusted the wipers and fixed the tapping. As far as the skipping/chattering. My service manager suggested I stop by periodically and have them clean my windshield. Such an odd suggestion.

3. drivers side headlight holding water. No, not condensation. It was actually holding water. After some back and forth with the service department they finally admitted that wasn’t normal and replaced the headlight.

4. I complained about the wind noise/ whistle coming from the drivers side window. My service department told me they couldn’t recreate the noise. I recorded it for my trip back in this week. As I see on this forum I’m not the only person having this problem.

5. I ordered the automatic window shades and I have noticed a pronounced rattle coming from the passenger rear door when shutting or going over bumps. The service department hasn’t been able to find the problem.
6. One key fob completely stopped working. The dealership originally thought it was the batterie. Ended up having to order a new key fob. Constantly having to shake the key fobs to get them to work because they “supposedly go to “sleep”.
I moved into a Benz after a long stint with Range Rover SC. Needless to say I’m very disappointed with the quality of the Benz and the lack of the dealership not resolving the problems. This weeks conversation is going to consist of my options of getting out the car. I don’t foresee this getting any better.
Wow so much for expensive heap of luxury junk. Sorry to hear you are having so many troubles. It’s unacceptable. BTW Range Rover Uses MB engine, transmission and other parts. No wonder you had lots of issues with your Range Rover. I honestly think MB can’t be trusted with quality or reliability. LEXUS would be a much better option.

I have a 2016 GLE 350 4matic
My entertainment DVD System would often not work displays “”disk unavailable””. I would turn it off, eject disk, out disk back in, turn it on and still not work- “disk unavailable”. Turning the engine off and back on doesn’t fix it. I would have to shut engine off and lock the car, leave it for a while. When I go out next time I would turn the DVD 📀 player on and it would work no problem. Then I would stop, park, and it would do the same “disk unavailable”. No matter what I do, it won’t work. I would drive home, park, lock the car and the following day, I would start it, turn DVD 📀 player in and it would work. Anyone else experiencing this ?

Hello All
Does anyone know if the 2020 Gle comes with ashtray and cigarette lighter. My service advisor informed me that they haven’t delivered trucks with them and it might be a European option.
thank you

A cigarette lighter is standard (hidden under a flap - I didn't know it was there for months). Mine has the phone charging pad where an ashtray would normally go. There is an ashtray available that drops into one of the cup holders - I assume this can be ordered from Parts.

I like you 😂 I will bring it up to my dealer but I don’t think MBUSA will replace my car. The problem is that I have to have my phone camera turned on and pointing it at the dash at all times, as I don’t know when it will happen.

I don't think that is the cigar lighter under the flap. That is the 12v outlet.
The cigarette lighter is a separate adapter that you have to plug into the 12v outlet, press it in to "heat" it up.

You are correct, at least in the US.

I try to stay updated on quality issues and was not aware of issues with Mercedes engines or transmissions. There will always be a few but haven’t seen anything notable. Are you confusing BMW issues of a few years ago?
Range Rover has quality issues that have nothing to do with the drive train. A good friend’s son just moved from Service Manager at a JLR Dealer to Acura because of his frustration with ongoing quality issues.
My early build GLE had numerous minor issues, mostly Tech or Component failures. Engine, EQ Boost and Transmission are rock solid.
Lexus is not in the same Class....I passed on getting another RX350 after driving the 2016 redesign and then the 2017. They get decent reliability readings by keeping things simple with mediocre engines and no changes except for minor refresh at 3-4 years.

In Canada you have to purchase it separately as an accessory.

I can't imagine smoking inside this vehicle and ruining the interior, but in the U.S., the ashtray is also a separate purchase.

Separately, any one else having an issue with voice guidance not working?
Yessssss. she either delivers the wrong response or no response at all and keeps asking you what you want. Did you ever get yours resolved? I've had them update the software three times already

Had my GLE350 for one year last month. 11,600 miles. Had one single hiccup at the 3 week mark and zero issues since. Super quiet, smooth ride, amazing fuel economy near 30mpg combined. So far, one of the best Benz I’ve owned since 1988.

Third row seats won’t fold down

My third row seats won’t fold down. I have a service appointment scheduled for this Thursday at 8am. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what was the solution?

The 3rd row "down switches" take a bit to get used to - if you "press and hold seat down button " won't work - if you "press and release seat down button " it should work fine..

Upon doing more searching in the forums I found the answer that worked for me and cancelled my appointment.

“the third row needs to be pulled backwards before pulling on the latch. Then the latch unlocks and the seat folds”

Third row has a mechanical release, second row is power (or at lease it is on mine).
