I challenged the legality of the RB’s and was offered a refund so I shipped them back today. The Chinese are killing American jobs and hurting our companies so I decided that I didn’t want to keep them. In my opinion they are the OEM product. This was happening with Golf Clubs until the Brands got wise. The Owner or Senior Officer makes some extra and then sells them to another company that they own. Since parts are marked up at the manufacturer and again at the dealer, there is a large profit margin. They leave off the product label and then pack them in the same box that they use for Mercedes. If Mercedes wasn’t so screwed up right now I might have reported this to them.

Good for you for not supporting that nonsense. Too bad they don’t believe in or enforce copyright laws over there.

Wheel mounting pin (wheel hanger)
A few of us do some of our own mechanical work. Changing wheels is an easy one, but a ~50 lb. wheel is not so easy to handle. Almost 3 months ago I started communication with the owner of a company, ReverseLogic, that makes a nice wheel mounting pin (wheel hanger, wheel mounting guide tool) to see if they could make one the the new M15x1.25 spec. Finally the result is in; here are some prototypes they sent me. They work really well; the rounded, tapered end makes fitting the wheel easy. Very nicely made of stainless steel. I only needed to finger tighten them and they were stable. You can use just one, but two or three is better.

Anyhow, they will start production soon and I will let everyone know when they are orderable.

As posted in the lug bolt thread, these are now in stock and available to order: https://www.reverselogic.us/shop.htm...tegory=4643105

Greg, do you know if these will be the same M15X1.25 size for the GLS 580 with 22 inch wheels?

I have these for all my vehicles. Not only are they a must have for heavy GL wheels with lug bolts, they save the rims and calipers from getting marked up too.

Yes, same for all V167 & X167. It’s vehicle-dependent, not wheel-dependent.

[QUOTE=XKxRome0ox;7777898]what are people using for cellphone mount in the 2020 GLE?

Hello All,
Sorry I'm so slow to respond to this. I'm really happy with my universal solution to mount my phone in almost any vehicle, so I thought I would share it with everyone. Take a look . I pieced together 2 products and it works great. Back in the day when we still used Garmin, I had this bean bag mount...

$16. On Amazon
Amazon Amazon

I then connected it to a WizGear dash mount. When I first saw the dash mount it seemed bulky in the photos, but in real life (pictured below) its fine. Not as big & bulky as it looks.
$11.99 On Amazon

Personally I think those look like a bag of crap sorry to say I wouldn't put this on my dashboard even on the cheapest car out there.

Greg,
I like the diamond studded front grill on your GLE. I have the standard grill and want to change it up but MB says that's not possible. Any idea why or if they are correct?

In addition to the grille, you will need to change the whole front nose piece for the AMG-Line, as well as change the body cladding around the rest of the vehicle for everything to align.
It would be too expensive to retrofit. Sorry.

Correct - the grilles are different shape and the front valance ties into the fenders.

I wonder if the GLE53 grille will fit an AMG exterior vehicle or is there a difference there as well

Thanks. I didn't realize it was such an involved process to switch it out. Guess I'll have to be satisfied with the stock grille.

Grille swap?

From appearances I believe it is likely the Panamericana style grille is the same size & shape as the AMG Line one.

I feel there needs to be a tray in the center console armrest. I only found one from China on eBay with the tacky AMG logos, and its $50. Anyone else looking for a tray?

What kind of tray? There is a small coin tray in yours, right?

I am. Had one for my GLC and it was helpful. Would like one for my GLE too, but haven't found anything yet. If someone has, please share. Thanks

It's a shallow tray that fits in the compartment between the seats, had one in my GLC but cannot find one for new GLE.

Your car should have come with one - the Canadian ones do (just like the previous ML/GLE models)
