That’s a shame, I would buy that now if it was available for delivery by end of this year itself.

 

Reports are a 100 km electric range is the target, which would be best around. But, all reports are saying 2020 release.

 

The GLCe Plug-In Hybrid is premiering at the IAA in Frankfurt which starts next Thursday. I'm guessing the GLE version will get the same 121 hp/325 lb ft motor generator but probably with a much larger battery than this car's 13.5 kWh.

I think we can draw some speculation from this for the future GLE 350e. The rumored 100 km electric only range is likely, with a 31kWh battery pack. The electric motor is rated at 134 hp with a straight conversion from Kw; not sure if it is a different motor than spec'd for the GLC 350e which is listed at 121 hp. It would seem for the US there is likely a GLE 450e in the cards, as well (or perhaps instead of the 350e).
