I am really confused about this. Isn't this function supposed to clear obstacles away so you can leave / enter with ease?
In my KIA, everything moves away when you shut off the car, providing as much room as possible to exit and eventually re-enter the vehicle.
Driver's seat, steering wheel etc. will get back in position when I press the start button once I am seated and ready to go.

It does work like that, EXCEPT if you have the seat pretty far back (I'm only 5'-10") the backrest tilts forward while the seat bottom stays stationary, which is really strange and uncomfortable. You can turn either wheel or seat movement off.

So no matter what position my seat is in it won't move on entry/exit. Going to take it in but my dealer/service center almost never as loaners available. What a pain.

Very odd indeed. I am 6'4 hopefully I won't be putting the seat too far back... let's see how it goes

Did you make sure this feature is on? Mine was turned off, until I read these post and now have it turned on In the vehicle settings. It’s working as it should now. Also make sure you have your seat programmed at least that may help as well.

Yes, the feature is definitely on and used to work. Like yours it wasn't on by default until I turned it on but now just doesn't work. It's a bummer when things go glitchy.

For the life of me i cannot figure out where the setting is for easy entry/exit. I have 450 with 3 memory settings for front seats. I checked in vehicle settings , comfort, system everywhere but dont see any option for easy entry / exit. The online manual isn't much helpful either in terms of telling me where to go to turn it on or off.
Can someone guide me through the exact screen navigation or has a picture?

Go to Settings -> Vehicle -> then Seat Positioning

So just recently I’ve lost the ability to have the seat move backwards with the easy entry/exit feature. If I have the seat in my preferred position, the steering wheel goes up but the seat does not move backwards. If the seat is in the position that is recommended by the assistant (which is slightly back and lower than where I like it) it will move backwards like it should. Anyone have any suggestions?

Honestly, i just think the way the system works is counter-intuitive.

In my previous Infiniti and Lexus sedans, easy exit was simple - steering wheel up and in and seat slide all the way back.

I've had my GLE in the shop to fix the control module for the seat (apparently it required a firmware update?) and still all it does is steering wheel up and seatback tilt forward (which is uncomfortable). The actual seat does not move forward or backward on the track.

Seems really odd and illogical - like the system is trying to force you to get up and out. I've shut it off for now.6.4.1

The system seems to work well as long as it’s working. Wheel goes up, seat goes back. The GLE works the same way as my Lexus RX. The issue is that it doesn’t seem to be working as intended right now.

I bet the backrest on your Lexus didn't tilt forward once the seat moved back.

Have you checked the setting, you can have it set so the steering wheel moves up but the seat stays where it is.

Same problem with my 2020 GLE350. No one at the dealership can figure out why it is doing that. When I have the feature activated instead of the seat moving back as it does in all my prior MB cars it slides forward and tilts the seat up and towards the wheel, the exact opposite of what It should do. The other day there was 4 salesmen in my car all trying to figure it out. The concierge guy who is suppose to be the teaching expert actually got trapped between the seat and the wheel said he has no idea why it is working the opposite of the way it should and has given up.
Many other tech things do not function correctly, guess they were premature is releasing and should have waited another year

On my car, the steering wheel moves up and the seat moves backwards, but the backrest moves forwards.

I think it does that on purpose to help you get out of your seat.

Yours is working correctly as per handbook, it isn't to help you out of seat but is to give rear passengers more room when seat moves back.

I don't need that kind of help - feels weird. I turned the seat movement off.
