East entry and exit

I have an issue with the easy entry/exit feature, when opening door after switching off ignition instead of raising the steering wheel and drivers seat moving back it raises the steering wheel and moves the drivers seat FORWARD. When I re-enter the car and turn ignition on it lowers the steering wheel and moves the drivers seat back to saved position. Has any other member got this problem on their cars.

I didn't notice the steering wheel move but the seat did the same as what you described; it moves *forward* when I'm trying to exit, which definitely didn't make it easier to exit. I disabled the feature after a couple days.

The steering wheel only raises if you don't have it set at highest position.

Thanks for your response, on holiday next week then back to dealers, when the system works correctly it is really good.

You can set it to just move the seat, or both seat and wheel. Mine operates as advertised. You could always program one of the seat settings to move the seat back with one push when exiting.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Showed the dealer and spoke to SA about it, but didn't want to leave my car there at that time. He said he had no clue and hadn't seen that before. So, if you get any info on a fix, please share. Thanks.

If you are a tall person (like me) then theoretically it would make sense for a chair that is way back to move forward to help someone get out. At least that's the way I understood it. With that being said I also disabled the feature and have it only move the steering wheel now.

I have read the manual, why would I press a button to move it back when it should do it automatically as it did in my GLC, the fact it moves forward when exiting means to me that they have wires crossed.

I doubt that I will take mine in before then. But, yeah, it seemed that way to me about the crossed wires, but probably something more programming related. The SA I spoke to said it would probably be a "teach-in" reprogramming. The only reason I believed him is because my good bud, who was an AMG tech at the local dealership before he started his own shop, had to "teach" the climate control dampers on my E63 occasionally, as they were electrically operated. It was pretty cool all the stuff you could do with a STAR diagnostic tool. Like, he was able to "teach" my AC fan that my location was the Middle East, which juiced the speed somewhat. Some cool stuff that us non-MB techs have no clue about.

I have the car booked in on Thursday for this issue, will post results, also noticed that when I fold the rear seats the passenger side moves forward and then returns to the memorised position, the drivers side moves forward and stays there.

Collected car today and easy exit/entry now working. They carried out 3 software updates which was a bit annoying as car is only 4 weeks old, they told me that these updates canno be carried out over the air!!!!. After carrying out the updates they said front camera wasn't working and they have ordered a new one to be fitted next week. They said I would get messages whilst driving, drove the 8 miles home, no messages and as far as I can see front camera working!!!!.

There are potentially two front cameras, one below the grille emblem for 360-degree view parking, the other behind the rearview mirror for Augmented Reality Nav.

It is the one behind the grill Greg, they told me I would get warnings but I didn't, maybe it reset itself after the updates, will take it in when they get the new camera to have the car checked.

I had the dealer look at this while the car was in. They said it's normal that if the seat is rearward, the back will move forward on activation so you can clear the B pillar. Seems weird to me.

The seat moves back and backrest forward when you open door to leave, mine wasn't just the backrest moved forward. When you re-enter car and start it the seat moves to the last memorised position, all working now on mine.

Mine doesn't move at all, just the steering wheel moves. Both are set to move in the settings. I guess I'll have to take in but seems like a small reason to take the car in. Also I noticed I don't get a warning if in reverse and a car is coming or a person is there. Strange.

You are correct a small reason but should work correctly, whilst my car was in to correct this they carried out 3 software updates , not sure what hey were but may also help with your reverse issue.

Perhaps your seat is already in the sweet spot for easy entry, and that's why it doesn't move?
Try a separate profile where the seat begins from a different location on the rails.

The seat won't move if it is in the furthest back position but the backrest will move forward.

My Corvette when in the "all the way back" position will not perform easy entry etc. The reason is that "all the way back" position is limited with a stop switch and it won't move any further. I just set it one half inch forward of that and it works fine. Try that maybe.

That's the way mine is and is really odd and unnecessary.

Standard. It's an option in your profile in MBUX.

It's also in the menu system in car, I believe in comfort settings.
