Key Fob Fable

The plant has opened but not all of the Corporate support staff are on duty. I’ll post the Work Order with details as soon as I get it.

I hope this one delivers.
Please post a photo of the inside with the version #.

It would be helpful if someone could post an older one for comparison like I forgot to do....
Checkout post #56.
From what I can see, it does not seem to be a new model, but I don't really know.
However, it may be a different batch that will function as originally intended, and will hopefully make you happy

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

This pretty much resolves all of my issues of any consequence. I assume that Android Auto/Car Play will be updated for Full Screen in FUP3 if that ever happens. In the interim I use the Native Nav on trips and AA around town. There are too many miscues with Mercedes Nav for it to be useful in the city. The latest one was Nav to a business that took me within 100 yards but to the wrong street 1 block away in a residential area vs the actual shopping center location.

I tested both keys again using the following method:
Using the key to lock, then unlock the car. Open the door to prevent automatic locking, and close it.
Leave the key somewhere that won't move for about 5 minutes.
Carefully pickup the key and move it to the door handle.
Try locking it with the sensor.
The one with the lower serial number doesn't lock the door until I shake the key, while the one with the larger serial number does (I make sure the other key is out of range when testing).
Looks like another trip to the dealership.
Another interesting finding:
I used to think that the handfree tailgate works randomly (I have the towing package). But what I found is that, it almost always (or always) works if the key is awake. I tested it with the old key, and it seems to work randomly until I shake the key, then it always works. I tested it with the new key and it works all the time (a few times so far).
So for those that think their handfree tailgate doesn't work, it could be your key, not the kick sensor or the hitch.

When you get a chance, can you test both keys with the following method?
Leave the key somewhere that won't move for about 5 minutes. (make sure the second key is out of range)
Carefully pickup the key and move it to the door handle (without shaking it, or if you have a chair, put it next to the door and put the key on the chair, so that you don't need to pick it up).
Try locking it with the sensor.
If both of your key works, you might have a different issue.
I don't know the normal time, since Mercedes doesn't specify it in the manual. But it's definitely longer than 5 minutes (the issue I had with the old key). Maybe someone else has more information on it.
I don't know the exact time before the key goes to sleep mode, but you can manually trigger it by pressing the lock button twice in quick succession.
