I’m disappointed about the loss of cd/dvd player in the car. It was useful to me because I have no time to look for movies and download them, to then put on usb so my kids can watch something in the car while it’s parked.
My solution come Christmas time will be getting them two iPad Pros hooked up to the front seat-backs (they are pre-wired for accessories). That way, I can just download titles from Netflix and call it a day. Bonus: it will work while in motion too.

+1 on this question. Also, I have the prewiring for rear seat entertainment, but no idea how to use it. Can someone point me to the page in the owner's manual? I looked but can't seem to find it.

Due to this covid business, I haven't had a chance to pick up my adaptor yet.
We did go with an iPad Air in the end.
If you visit your dealer, they should have the adaptor in stock. Just make sure your seats have the pre-wiring.
I found this the hard way, Next to Search icon change "Music" to "Video" and then you can watch videos. They made it worse by supporting videos in "Music" mode, leading customers to believe that Video is not working.

Guys...I just got my GLE450 on Monday and it does NOT have a USB port inside the middle compartment....like wtf? It only has one usb-c port....how is this even ok?

The GLE only comes with USB-C port. You should have 1 or 2 USB-C to USB-A adapter that comes with the car. Mine was located in the glove box compartment.
April of 2019 I got 3 cables but they have since discontinued them. Amazon has a lot of good C to A choices but if you are concerned with AM get one from Apple, Samsung or Google. Besides the cable there is also a short converter maybe an inch or so long. There should be 3 more USB C charging ports or more with the 3rd row if my memory is correct.

I received my car in Sept 2020 and I had 2 cables in glove compartment.

Yes you can change the screen to automatic Zoom first scroll over to full screen and then look for video play black size automatic zoom usually Brings whatever is playing up at full size
I have been trying to get videos on my USB drive to play full screen (when parked) but have yet to figure out how. Has anyone else? Tapping on the small video opens up the add playlist menu for me.
you need mbux 549 apparently mercedes has not been telling ANY CUSTOMERS about this and selling the cars and telling people certain features will be available then delivering cars with it missing and blaming chip shortage. The chip shortage aside they know what functionality is lost but don't want tell prior as they lose sales. Furthermore some people paid for the features and where not given credit until later. The 548 is a lesser SOC OR system on chip essentially they are giving us Reilly px soc vs Parker 128 they could upgrade to Xavier if they wanted look out for people but mercedes won't do that. Every S class or better is rolling off line fully functional as far as I know.

I live in Western Australia & have also been a victim of Mercedes Benz secretly selling brand new 2022 GLE 400d with many optional extras including upgraded entertainment package & sound system - price $173,000 Aus inc multiple Australian taxes totalling $ 40,000 Aus of the purchase price with no video or dvd playing functions whatsoever !!!
I discovered the deception when I rang my Sales person after taking delivery of my vehicle, to ask his advice because I couldn’t play video from a USB or any other way. He immediately informed me that my car didn’t have any video capability. Not mentioned at any time pre or post purchase previously. As all my vehicles for the last 20 years have had DVD / TV/ USB functions I was really disgusted.
Pre purchase & delivery I thoroughly checked the brochure & spec sheets & questioned my sales person & contacted Mercedes Head office multiple times to try to confirm exact details of what was included in my vehicle. With regard to the MBUX system the Sales person was evasive & told me they didn’t know what was included with it as every car is different. They only know when they initiate the system on the day of pickup at the show room. Mercedes Head office failed to clarify or respond to my emails seeking specific details of exactly what MBUX / Mercedes Me, subscriptions were included & other MBUX inclusions.
Only by researching Mercedes USA forums did I discover the Code 458 / 459 difference & that the deception was worldwide. Customers in other countries were also being sold 548 - an outdated faulty system inferior to the 549 in many ways.
I did not receive the 549 System which has Video functions even though I am supposed to have Augmented reality which requires 549.
My question is has anyone successfully found a solution to this issue?
Does Mercedes replace the 548 Head Unit with the 549 they should have installed in the first place, if you complain to them?
Does USA Consumer Rights Protections against deceptive practices help USA customers?
Any other ideas?
I very much appreciate any help or solutions anyone has found to rectify this deception.
