Touchpad does not control Android Auto

Touchpad does not control Android Auto
The touchpad does not allow the changing of tile/button selection on android auto. Anyone else have this problem? Is it also with CarPlay?

My dealer was unaware of the OTA update and there was no notice to me. It might be a long first year waiting for Mercedes to debug these wonderful cars.

Yes, AA is updated to the new version on the phone. I was hoping this would fix the touchpad interaction, alas it did not and touchpad does not control the screen.

Do you now have full screen and the new look? I got an update recently but it was to the old version. I just found a way to try it though. Open Android Auto-go to Settings-click on “Try New Android Auto”. Will test it later today.

I decided to try it out a minute ago. The new version of AA is very nice but there was no full screen and the touch pad still doesn’t work. It also locked up in the Easy Access screen again.

My touchpad only works intermittently with Mercedes functions since last weeks update. It wouldn’t occur to Mercedes to test the Software updates before sending them out....Grrrr!

Disconnecting the battery temporarily fixes some things but not the touchpad with Android Auto and still no word on full screen either. It’s been 3 weeks since I checked and I plan to follow up again next week.
As slow as fixes are coming I wouldn’t be surprised if it took most of 2020 to get MBUX right. Mercedes is cutting costs and reducing staff so resources may be getting thin. 😂

Thanks for the update. At least sheds some light, its not my phone; I guess all android auto with it currently. I would take full screen over the trackpad in an update . Hopefully.we get an update soon but I wouldnt count on any speed. I assume update needs be done at the dealer, Ill keep this thread handy to check when it arrives.

Asked why I had paid for Advanced connectivity if I still have to break the law but got no where. Just repeatedly told it has never worked.

I do find it odd that as a luxury brand and a new 2020 system, to hear it never worked as an excuse. I'm pretty upset about my 2020 GLC, i guess shame on me for not fully checking into this when I ordered the car. Both iOS and android should also make use of the full screen as well and they don't. Terrible nor does benz give a damn.

So these OTA updates are automatically done by MB? Are there any pre-warnings or just post notifications that it has been done? Is there anyway to make them manual to where you have to agree to do it first?

Got an answer from MB USA:
The google assistant part is there because it stop working on mine. It will activate MBUX one instead of Google one even with AA connected.

At this time, there are no plans for a full screen or touchpad control using Android Auto. When Android Auto is activated, the Google Assistant can be activated by holding down the voice control button on the steering wheel. The vehicle lowering feature requires activation for each use, and cannot be automatically activated.

In the US we are on version 2 with 3 rumored to be out in early 2020....still waiting. I think Fup is short for fresh update but that’s just a guess. The version description can be viewed in the MBUX menu—-System-System Info-Software Version. Mine currently reads apilevel/ntg6_fup2/063. I assume that 063 is the version level of fup2. Since there doesn’t seem to be any documentation available, FUP3 could be for the AMG models or they might run fup 2 with a different version. Maybe someone with a GLE53 can tell us.

I have a Canadian GLE350 delivered two months ago... Android auto has the track pad working. Both center console and steering wheel. What doesn't work are the back and prev / next buttons.
