Front Control or rear screens??
I was wondering if anyone know if you can mirror the two screens and control them from the front. I have young children and it would be great to put on some shows for them.
Many thanks.

It is basically a very bare bones $50 android tablet that MB charges $900 for. It does not interact with the car in any way and basically can just play videos, music or pictures you load on it. We bought it so my son could watch movies. To get it to work i had to rip his movies using mkv into mp4 format. Then copy them all onto a large thumb drive. To further aggravate you the tablet does not care about folder structure. Instead you have to drop the mk4 files into the root and be sure to name them how you can recognize them as the actual file name ONLY is displayed.
MB should really be ashamed of this offering. I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this offering.

Watch from 14:37 to 15:02. I assume these are the same screens you would get OEM from Mercedes on the regular GLE and GLS (this is on a Maybach). Seems like they have a lot of stuff from the tablet in the middle, and can access the full MBUX stuff. If I were to go for tablets in the back (which I wouldn’t) these seem to be nice. Or just an iPad lol.

Those would be great, but what mercedes offers for our cars is NOWHERE remotely as nice. Im telling you, you could be a $50 tablet on Amazon that is 100x more useful than the $900 unit MB sells you.
What is in the video is what i was expecting as well, sadly it is not that.
If you truly want one of those ill be happy to sell you mine for half the retail price. im telling you now though that even at that great of a deal I'd be ripping you off. Thats how strongly I feel about what a waste these tablets are.

horrible idea though if they release something so "unfinished" and expect people to wait for an update down the road.

Option 866 for GLE 2021 missing
Option 866 is not part of Premium package for 2021 models. Many options from 2020 premium package are now standard in 2021 like wireless charging and lights but I don’t see option 866 in my build. How to order option 866 for 2021 models?

Hi all, I recently purchased a 2020 GLE450, it has the seat sockets option (option 866). I purchased a set of 11.6” android screens that plug into the sockets from eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284161281293). The design is the same as the newer style MB rear screens, they look good. The display screen can be adjusted to have Mercedes appearance.
My question for those with the factory MB screens, or aftermarket like mine, do they turn off when you turn off the vehicle? Mine stay on forever (if you turn them on). I’m concerned if a passenger turns on the screen, and I don’t check it’s turned off when leaving the vehicle, I will come back to a flat battery. I’ve tested it for about 3 hours with the car locked, and the screens are still turned on.

I had 2 options when I invested in my rear multimedia. To buy OEM iPad holder with charging since I do not want to have MB's own screens or buy
the OEM universal holders, https://lifestylecollection.mbusa.co...head_restraint
I bought the OME universal holder that fit the option 866 and to get charging to the iPad I was opening up the back side of the front seat, found the power cable that goes to the multi holder and stole power from the red and black cable that provide 12v and added a 12v USB charger and connected a charging cable and let the cable out near the iPad holder. With this variant you get remote power and charging while ignition is on and only 10 cm cable visible from the backrest to the iPad charging port.
