I don't mean to interfere with the OP's thread, but this is my solution for my kids.

Do you know if the OEM can play audio through car speakers if the car is wired for rear seat entertainment option (which we chose)? Also, do the screens come with wireless headsets?

On the "China" screens - yes you can get a pair (2) 11.6" screens with Android 8.1 for like $500 thru AliExpress vendors...
Now - the "Plug-N-Play" mount on these China rigs is is exactly that - a mount - each comes with separate power cable to plug each into 12V... and "sound" connectivity to the car system is thru a FM modulator... you have China headphones of course... and you will have a older/non-upgrade-able Android version which is common in China but not common here in the us..
All said and done - really - for the vast majority of folks out there - it's Apple or iPhone tablets - with or without a head rest mount... $250 ea for China... $350 ea for iPad... like $150 ea for a strong Amazon tablet... etc... the choices are almost endless .... no biggie anymore really

For the Mercedes OE unit - interestingly from the info dealer's have on hand (Star system and ODUS) no cross-reference as to plug-n-play "connectivity" meaning - we don't know if the accessory port will provide power and/or audio connection.
Now - for iPad and some Samsung there is a "port attachment"/hangar available - must have matching MB "safetty case" as well - and that iPad/Samsung system is assumed to have no connectivity at all - and there is a "fold-down table" for that port as well (with warning not for use in passenger seat while moving" - which has no connectivity as well.
The key here - for the OE tablet - someone will have to report .
On GLE - ODUS specs for GLE does show 866 pre-wiring - and ODUS accessory system says MB tablet compatible - BUT Hot-Spot required - so heck not enough info.
On the GLS the VMI specs show 866 Seat Row Entertainment - and ODUS show compatible - Hot Spot required - but again not enougth info to know what it will do and what it will no do.

Pulled the trigger and bought oem tablet entertainment center Its plug and play if you have option 866 .No need for a hot spot, you can play movies/video/game console via usb and hdmi or use wifi and play whatever you want via internet browser.Audio can be played through anything that has Bluetooth including car’s speakers . Each screen comes with manual and remote control and its a touchscreen.

If you go to your parts department and tell them your VIN they will locate the entertainment center for you .There is only one oem that works with 2020 gls
