Will allocations for the Gle 580 be difficult for dealerships to trade for or get from other dealerships? I am working with a dealership that only has one Gle 580 coming in. Will it be easy for them to get me an allocation?

@stealth.pilot Is there a reason why the Gle 580 is being treated like an Amg suv by dealerships? I can understand an Amg Gle 63 suv or an Amg Gle 63 S being hard to get with limited allocations but why is the Gle 580? I know the Gle 580 is a temporary short term gap vehicle until the new Amg Gle 63 arrives but it makes no sense since the model isn't a limited edition model and will be discontinued fairly quickly. I would have thought most customers don't want a vehicle that will be discontinued in less than 1 year.

I’m not sure why Mercedes is restricting output of large engine models. I see a lack of both 450s and 580s. It is certainly costing them market share. I know people who bought an X5 M50i because the GLE580 was not available and because all the 450s had low equipment levels.
i’m holding out for a month but if I don’t find a well equipped 580 in a decent color scheme, then I will just buy a BMW.

Who said it is being discontinued soon? All indications I have seen is this will be a permanent model.

You can even build it with Cotso before MBUSA.

Limited run?
Now that someone mentioned the configurator in the US is still not showing the GLE 580 (31 December 2019)...
If the GLE 580 is indeed a limited sales run for the US market, how would that affect resale value, say four years down the road? Would it help it or hurt it, as compared to the 350 or 450?

Terry (fabbrisd1), a dealer, has said they would be very limited. I don't know the rationale, either.

You can also configure a GLE 580 at nadaguides.com. The other 2 sites I have used in the past are kbb.com and edmunds.com but neither of these two are showing a listing for the GLE 580 yet. When I ordered mine two months ago I was assured that the passenger seat memory (P64) is now standard on the GLE 580. I had added that in my order but when he printed out my confirmation it showed that item as standard. This is not mentioned in the Preliminary Dealer Order Guide or the configurator for nadaguides.com. I sure hope my S/A is correct because I do not want to be without the passenger seat memory package.

Gle 580 delivery
Hello all, I ordered my Gle 580 9/24/19. My dealership had two allocations at the time. At the time of order I had a completion date 11/24/19. That date changed to 12/23/19 around Thanksgiving and then another date change 1/6/20 shortly thereafter. Then a week later the completion date changed back to 12/23/19. As of today according to my Sales Associate it still says 12/23/19 for completion date but they cannot tell me when it will be delivered. I got a VIN in early December. I am slightly frustrated bc I turned my Range Rover in at the beginning of December and was told by my Sales Associate the timing would be perfect. Now I am a month in with no car and no indication as to when my Gle will be delivered. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
