What's the trick to fold down 3rd row seat without struggling with it

I pull the latch for the third row seats at the top and try to push them down but they seem locked. Its a hit or miss everytime i have to do it and takes several attempts and many times it locks out. What am i missing to make it a smooth process. Since i have trouble with both the seats it can't be the latch. So wanted to find out if you have figured out the smoothest way to get it done everytime without struggling through it.

Thanks
Amit

I think i answered my own question. The second row has to be moved further than in the most far position. And the third row needs to be pulled backwards before pulling on the latch. Then the latch unlocks and the seat folds.
If someone has found a different way, let me know. Its sort of a pain to move the second row every time but then the headrest on the 3rd row needs space so i can understand. Wish this was all controllable from the trunk.

Haven't used it much myself yet (only had the car for two weeks) but my experience is it's a pain in the neck in general. Yeah, the second row has to move forward in order to raise/lower the 3rd row. More annoyingly, when the 2nd row is put back, it doesn't automatically return to the previous position; it goes to some default position which means the seat back is slightly tilted forward (which no one would sit at.)

Fortunately, we don't plan to use the 3rd row much; it's more for "emergencies" when we have to cram in extra people.

It does that so you don't squash the person in the 3rd row.
