Blacked Out

for the guys in the new england area, if MA is 35% legal all around, what if you head up to NH with a MA plate, in which NH restricts tinting the front driver and passenger side windows? can the cops technically give you a ticket as well or they can give you a freebie since you're an out-of-state car?

A cop buddy of mine said most cops will ignore lack of front license plate or illegal tints unless they are A) really bored, or 2) thinking you're doing something else illegal and using it as a pretext for investigation.
To me, the question you have to ask yourself is whether you want to give a cop an excuse to pull you over. You can obey every traffic law and drive perfectly, but if your front windows are tinted, you may legally be pulled over in a particular county.
I'm a law-abiding citizen and I largely lean toward never giving the authorities an opportunity to pull me over (although this license plate thing has me considering foregoing the state laws.

what was used to black out your door handles? Has there been any degradation of the material since you use handles often? Do the touch sensors still work on the handles for keyless go?

Can you post a picture of the whole car with the blacked out door handles? I'm also considering doing this operation.

Got the body shop to take them off and split them down - sprayed one part Matt black and the other part gloss black to make it blend in with the body of the car.

I’ll keep you updated how the paint holds up but I wasn’t going to rest until they were blacked out. If the paint starts to come off I’ll have them done again or look at a different finish.

Plastidip will look like crap in no time, I wouldn't do it unless you want to redo the rims every 3 months

We are probably both wrong to describe one solution. It might depend on circumstances, your location and services available. There are at lest 4 Powder Coaters near me and one big volume shop is priced comparable to paint with a fast turnaround. Winter sand/gravel will chip a painted wheel but much less likely with powder. If you can repair a curbed wheel it can easily be stripped and PC again.
I have never curbed a wheel nor has my wife, guess we are lucky. With the Tech on my GLE it would take extreme carelessness now since you can see the Curb when parking or let the car park itself. I have seen people wander out of a lane and shine both wheels on a curb but that damage would not be easy to repair. As the wheels get larger in diameter there is less sidewall protection so it is definitely an issue that can only get worse.
Einser....Your car is absolutely beautiful. All that black complements the beautiful cardinal red color. I’m jealous!
