22 inch wheels

Hi all

first post....

I recently got my 2019 GLE 450 with 22 inch AMG wheels and I wanted to check if others had any issues with their tyre pressures on this wheel size?

The sticker in the fuel cap advises 32psi all round. I did this and it felt like driving a boat. Does anyone have any suggestions? MB UK and the Dealer don't know the answer, they both suggested it was whatever the fuel cap sticker says.

The front tyres are 285/40, rears are 325/35 (all R22)

thanks/all the best

Ron

Did you check the label by the drivers door. Should be closer to 38 psi or higher if I had to guess?

I have the 22 inch wheels and run them at 34 with no problem, as you say the advised setting is 32.

Great, thanks for that Phil, I will give that a go. I changed the rears to 34 and that seemed to improve it, I'll do the fronts too.

All the best

Ron

The tyre pressures are shown on the inside of the fuel filler cap not the drivers door, that's in the UK.

Tire pressure confusion

38 is way to high. As has been reported previously there are 3 different tire pressure labels that do not entirely agree. The one on the fuel filler door is the closest; running a little higher is okay, but 38, except in the rear when fully loaded, would give an extremely hard ride. My 21s are listed at 31/31 for normal loads and I think they are fine even for hard driving at 32.

If you prefer driving a soggy noodle I’m sure it’s great!
