Dye Transfer - Macchiato beige

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to remove blue jean dye transfer on Macchiato beige interior? I have tried soap and Adams leather cleaner with no success. I have leatherette seats.

I've used this to remove jeans dye from white leather sneakers and it works brilliantly. I'm not sure if would work on the MB-Tex or not, but it might be worth the shot. Maybe try testing in an inconspicuous spot first.

Try rubbing alcohol. FYI, my wife's car has the platinum white designo leather seats and they treated the seats with a product on delivery, have not had any dye transfer in 4 years of ownership.

thank you. Tried the rubbing alcohol, didn’t work. Also tried magic eraser and it’s still there. Very strange

Rubbing alcohol is pretty harsh. If you're not careful, the alcohol can leave a stain.

Magic Eraser is kinda harsh as well, if you use it, don't rub too hard.

I suggest you put some leather conditioner on after so it doesn't dry out from the alcohol.

On the recommendation of fabbrisd1, I purchased Lexol pH-Balanced Leather Cleaner. He has been the expert for advice and recommendations, so I suspect this is the best product for cleaning the seats. I probably let it go too long on my Almond leather, but I have been able to get most of the dye transfer off.

thanks! But being leatherette, does conditioning still apply? My understanding is that the synthetic leather doesn’t require conditioner. That was one of the positives for going that route with 2 kids.

Lexol used to be amazing stuff. From reviews online, quality seems to have decreased when their plant moved to China. The MB-Tex doesn’t hydrate with conditioner like real leather does. Having said that, others in the detailing forums use conditioner and said they have good results. Sounds weird but they say don’t use a microfiber towel to clean the mbtex per the manual.

That is interesting, wonder why they say don't you microfiber towel.

Try Googling "how to clean denim dye off leather" and you will get a lot of suggestions. I had success using a mixture of Woolite and water on the leather seats in my 2010 Lexus.

In this case he is asking about the Artico/MB-Tex fake leather, also known as decent vinyl.
Myself, I've used an interior vinyl spray cleanser and microfibre towel. It worked just fine.

A gaggle of MB's
Lexol pH Neutral Cleaner is solid - especially since you can pick it up at retail locally.

My new FAV - RealClean - it's a 32oz Spray bottle ... most $10 stuff is 16oz.. so $20 is not bad at all:

Amazon Amazon

We have the designo macchiato beige and saddle brown leather seats. Do you know what the dealer used to seal/treat/protect the leather? I want to inquire with my dealership.

I just bought a GLE63 with macchiato interior. The first thing I will do when I get it home is this.

This is a nightmare. I had Macchiato Beige Nappa in our previous car - E63S. I had the leather coated with some ceramic product. Then a year later, my niece sat in the car wearing a wet denim jacket (because it was raining) and this caused some pretty bad dye transfer marks on the passenger seat.

Had a couple of detailers work on it. In the end, had to have the dealer re-dye the leather to fix it.

Microfiber (polyester) and MB-Tex (vinyl or similar) have similar hardnesses and therefore over time and with repeated cleaning with microfiber, the microfiber can abrade the MB-Tex.
