I purchased my AMG GLE53 on April 2023 a week later I start getting the “Suspension malfunction” message in my dash and also having problems with my digital cluster not turning on while im driving only infotainment screen is on.
I ended up messaging my salesman about the problem and he responds with “the vehicle is brand new the computer needs to get used to the car I had the same problem on my E63” so I gave him the benefit of the doubt because it’s true the car is new.
I took my car to Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills and they diagnosed the problem and told me “it’s a problem with the center console” and I said “okay the car is under warranty go ahead and fix it” and they told me “no we can’t if you wanna replace it it’ll cost you $20,000” JUST FOR THE CENTER CONSOLE mind you they disassembled the center console and assembled it back but did not assemble it properly.
1 year later I’m having the same problems electric issues and suspension im considering on hiring a Lemon Law attorney at this point because I will not be paying $20,000 for a problem that the vehicle had when I first purchased it and they had the audacity to tell me “you can use your insurance” I regret going the MB OF BEVERLY HILLS and they also scratched my vehicle
This may or may not relate to your specific issue, but it may be of use: I just had an intermittent suspension warning message that would come up every 2-3 weeks. Car still drove fine though. They diagnosed it as a short in the switch block (the one below the palm rest where you can also switch the exhaust etc.) that mounts in the console. I spoke to the tech and he told me mine was about the 3rd one they have done and referenced another repair on a different car in the MB PTSS (Product Technical Support System) database on the repair ticket. Maybe they got a bad batch of parts at one time - who knows. Mine is a 2022 GLE53 with 36k miles. No issues since the warranty fix. Console did not have to come out (less than 2 hours labor incl diagnostic time). Never spilled any liquid in that area, but be careful with all the high tech stuff in these cars today.

This quote is hilarious to me. Computers don't "learn" the car. In some instances they might be programmed to learn your driving style but that's a different thing. Issues don't just solve themselves. You need a different dealer.

Salesman rarely know anything about the cars they sell. It is a waste of time to get the salesman involved in maintenance issues. I am more interested in why the service department would say it wasn't covered under warranty.
As fyi....I had the suspension error message on my 20 GLS in March 2023. Dealer diagnosed as having a communication fault for left front and right rear suspension strut control units. A software update fixed the issue.
Some of the past. ’13 CTS V Wagon, ‘15 GL550. ‘17 GLS550. Current: ‘20 GLE580.
My GLE 580 with E-ABC had the same issue at cold start it had the malfunction had to shut off and restart for it to go away. If I drove with the suspension light on it was a rough ride the suspension wasn’t active.
just got the car back yesterday it was a software update. They did charge me $430 for diagnostics.. even though I have MB extended warranty..till 75k I’m at 60 now. still fighting it
