It appears that MBUX will be supporting Amazon Music this year. Does anyone know if this will be available to current 2020 GLE’s?

In the course of 2020, Mercedes-Benz will also be integrating the music streaming service Amazon Music into the new SUV models. If the customer has an Amazon Music account they can transfer their music to the vehicle via the Mercedes me "Online Music" service. Individual songs, playlists or music of the desired genre can be played via touch or voice input. Amazon Prime members have two million songs to choose from, with 50 million for "Amazon Music Unlimited". The music streaming service TIDAL will continue to be available.

This is exactly the kind of content that software updates are for. Probability is high

Mercedes were due to support tidal in 2017. It only took them until 2019 to launch it.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

 

You can already do that with a USB or Bluetooth connection from your phone, or use Android Auto/ Apple Carplay through MBUX. I do that now, including my Tidal tunes.
If you wait for MBUX to connect directly, you will have to add another Cell Service provider to get wireless to MBUX, which may or may not be advantageous. Unless I am missing something here, which is indeed a possibility.

 

Exactly, I run Spotify thru Bluetooth. Why wait , seems stupid. You don’t need MBUX

 

Yeah, I know that, I just don’t like to stream through my phone. I have the built-in hotspot through AT&T activated (It’s only $15/mo. unlimited data) so I don’t that would be a big deal.

 

You're right, and there is an advantage if you have passengers with their own devices.

I guess I am having knee-jerk reactions to all the Subscriptions that are being thrust upon us in our daily lives. Cell, Cable, Cable-cutting, Netflix, Disney+, Google+, Quicken, MSFT 365, Roon, Qdoba - they all mount up.
In this case, it's the AT&T sub, plus TIDAL, Amazon Music, Spotify Premium, Pandora Premium.
BTW I get a Veteran discount with Tidal.

 

Amazon music is really great platform. But it has some quality issues. So if anyone need to switch to other platform just visit MusConv

 

Anyone actually get Amazon music on MBUX yet?

 

The way I'm able to play my various Amazon Music Playlists is by plugging my phone in, then Android Auto pops up with a big menu, and Amazon Music is one of the available choices. That's probably not what you're referring to, though--is it?

 

Hi, I’m actually referring to the a Mbux app for Amazon music, I can definitely do it through CarPlay but I’m not loving the small screen.

 

Yes, Amazon Music on MBUX works fine here in the UK on my GLE

 

Have you compared the sound quality on MBUX to wired Carplay? Is it as bad as Bluetooth Carplay/Android Auto, compared to wired?
I wonder if we're missing anything at all.

 

At least it's actually on a GLE somewhere!! . I wish we could have it here in the US on our GLE's

 

From what I can hear, the quality is not too bad but will of course be dependent on the internet signal in the car (I pay for the Vodaphone Internet in the Car service). I am no expert though but appears to me to be fine and compares favourably to the other inputs to MUBX. I also tried Tidal, which was better quality, but did take a lot of data to use.
