I ordered a GLE 63. Dealer has no idea when it will be built. I asked on GLE 63 forum if anyone who also ordered a 63 had received theirs or had been giving an estimated build date... only crickets.

On a side note the only problem I have with the ACP is the external garage Door remotes don’t work as well.

I have the acoustic comfort package and haven't had any issue with cell phones / dropped calls / internet. For your garage door remote (and other RF devices like toll transponders), the acoustic windshield has only two places that let the signal through. One is at the bottom center of the glass, the other is just to the right of the rearview mirror. There's a picture somewhere in the manual showing those 2 locations.

Here are the 2 locations that should work with your external garage door remotes, if you have the acoustic comfort package ("infrared reflective windshield").

Thank you. I am aware of those but they still do not work as well in my MB with the ACP vs the one without.

The discount I settled on was 4.1%. I started at 6% and dealer started at $500 LOL. A week later I texted them with my final offer and we ordered.

Isn't the Alabama factory closed and not producing?

Last I heard from my dealer last week is that Alabama is open and they are receiving small shipments. I understood that they were working one shift per day with each shift working alternating weeks.

I have a 21 GLE53 on order. Build was completed last week with ETA of sept.3rd. I don’t understand why such a long transit period.Maybe they are holding because it’s 21 model. No pricing to date. They added soft close doors in one of the packages because it’s on the build sheet but I did not order that option. I expect A small price increase over 2020 model. I am looking forward to this vehicle. I am trading my wife’s 18 E43. This will be our first SUV since 2002 ML500. It was not MB’s finest hour.. The power train is a great improvement over the 43.

I presume your GLE53 was built in Vance rather than in Germany. In any event, they probably will not be officially releasing the MY21 vehicles until September. But if your car was produced in Alabama, that's at least a good sign that production is on-going.

Did they start building the GLE in Germany? Last I knew Vance was the only factory building them.

They build the GLC in Germany but to my knowledge, Vance is the only assembly plant that builds the GLE.

So, if you don't know the final price, did you negotiate a %-age discount on the price?

yes and I just locked in the price for the trade last week.

How did you lock in a trade price? Did you leave the trade with them? Is the car schedule to be here very soon?

I had presumed that all GLE's were being built in Vance and appreciate the confirmation. That at least shows that Vance is up and running, giving some hope to those of us with MY21 vehicles on order. Since mine is 3D August, I'll check with my rep in early August to see if any status changes have been posted. Really wish MB had a BMW-like self-tracking system.

I ordered my 2021 AMG 53 around 6-20 from the Tucson dealer. No word yet on anything and I checked yesterday. They tell me I am number one on the list for the SUV but all that they have seen are the coupes coming in. We shall see what happens.

Hi petee1997 - Are they already building ‘21 models? I thought that wasn’t happening until late August. I have a 20 GLE 580 on order with an anticipated build date of 8/2. As for your delivery date, maybe it’s because you are in Canada?

They are building the 21 GLE53 now. The GLE350, 450 and I presume 580 begin 3rd decade August, according to my dealer.

That’s about when I ordered my 53 and I finally got a build date yesterday. It might have been sooner but I made changes several times and corrections. My build date is 1st decade October.
If you are the first order from your Dealer you should have a date by now or very soon. Maybe they are changing an existing stock order and don’t have allocation? Good luck.

Thanks nsoltz! I was asking because my 2020 GLE 580 has yet to be built, so I was curious how they are building 2021’s despite the fact that some 2020’s (like mine that was ordered in March) aren’t done yet. According to my dealer I have an 8/2 build date.

The GLE53 has been available since Dec, 2019 in Canada as 2020 model.
