As the weather has finally warmed up, I'm finding that the convenience opening feature (press and hold unlock on the key fob to open windows and sunroof) is not working. Has anyone else run into this? I hate to have to take it into the dealership if it's something simple that I'm overlooking. The manual doesn't indicate that I'm missing any steps.
I thought mine wasn't working, but then I realised that the first thing it does is to open the sunroof blind, and since this takes forever I was giving up on the whole "episode" before it made it as far as the windows. Just be patient ... it probably does work.

I almost never close the sunblind, though I probably should when parked.
Had a chance to test it and it doesn't work until I'm within two or three steps of the vehicle. Not ideal since they aren't really even down by the time I reach for the door handle.
But what he failed to mention is that he is also pushing the key up to his chin while wearing a tin foil hat. JK.
I’ve always had to be very close for this to work on any of my MBs.

Had this same issue, curious if there is anyone else other than Spitfire63 and me experiencing this. Basically I have to first hold the unlock button till the sunblind opens completely then when it stops, let go of the unlock button then hold the unlock button again for the windows and the sunroof to finally open. Anyway around this, other than keeping the sunblind open when parked in the sun?
As for the proximity issue, I have no such issue using this feature while pointing out from inside the house to the rear of the car in my garage.
I also always thought the proximity requirement is a safety feature (theft protection for example) but as long as I am within meters from the car it works for me (the sun blind still has to be opened though) so I am confused why is it like that.
