In term of the license plate frame, I always uses the ClearCover from Weathertech. Their frame size is small compare to others, and they also have a seal around the whole frame, preventing water and dirt from getting onto the license plate.
IND has a great selection of frames (no, they're not all BMW), including carbon fiber and slimline stainless. Custom painting is an option. I have them to match my BMW. Good customer service, as well.

Mostly because it was a pain when washing the car always stuck the towels there when drying and also found the lettering looking a bit cheap
