Can you upgrade to an AMG Grill on a non AMG?

Does anyone know if you can upgrade/swap out the oem grill on the 2020 GLE 450 to the AMG (Not referring to the diamond grill in the AMG package) but the actual grill on the AMG 43/53/63. I know theres a lot of sensors and electronics inside there in the emblem, so not sure if dealer does this or unwise to do in the aftermarket.

thanks in advance

Someone did this in the X167 forums with their GLS and it came out pretty spot on, you can check out the post there. If I remember correctly, he had to buy the whole kit including bumpers, trims, etc.

If the 450 has an AMG appearance package - yes, you can. The aftermarket grille quality however is subpar. It appears that all of them come from one factory somewhere in China.
You can get a GLE53 VIN and have your dealer's parts dept. order you the grille based on a 53 part number, have it installed in a body shop or do it yourself. You have to drop the bumper.

I did an aftermarket one because I wanted all black and it worked fine, but I would go with genuine Mercedes AMG grill if I did it again for a better fit and finish. If you have the AMG appearance package then you can upgrade.
