Picked up a 2024 GLE 450 about a month ago. Pretty disappointed there’s no cornering light. I came from a 2020 C300 and that car had the cornering light so couldn’t believe the GLE doesn’t have it. I have the multi beam LEDs.
Do any of you that own a 24 have cornering lights?
Does your 2024 have lighted exterior door handles? I think this something Mercedes also removed or did away with on the GLEs for North America.
It was removed as per model year 2020.
Only the retractable handle MBs since then still gets it.
You can call it cost cutting I guess. They also have a problem of failing within warranty on multiple MB models so that might had influenced their decision as well.
"the best or nothing.." they gave you nothing because the failing LEDs are not considered the best.

Thanks for pointing this out. I never realized the handle lights were available in the past. Now that I now what I'm missing, my Mercedes ownership experience has been completely ruined.

No my car does not have the door handle lights. I was so upset when I learned this, I’ve had 2 c class w205s and both of them had them and never had any issues. They really make the car stand out at night, looked so good I can’t believe Mercedes got rid of this.
I’m pretty disappointed my car doesn’t have either the cornering light or the door handle lights. My c300 had them and that car was less than half the cost of the GLE. So messed up.
Hopefully if enough people complain to MBUSA then they may address these issues. I had a 2018 BMW X3 M40i and it had lighted exterior door handles (all 4 doors), LED adaptive cornering lights AND the separate cornering light which came on when turning or activating the turn signal at low speeds.

I know for a fact US GLEs don't have cornering lights but other GLEs around the world (not including Canada) have them, I thought I read it has to do with some sort of regulations but I couldn't believe it. Let me look for that thread.

Yes RJ mentioned this when I started a thread about curve lights with ILS+ coding.
Shouldn’t be due to regulations. My W212 and W213 E63 and GLC43 have cornering lights with stock programming.
The LEDs for the cornering lights come from the medial end of each headlight and shine laterally, so shouldn’t lack of cornering light shouldn’t be due to the amber reflector on the lateral end of the headlights.

Then I really don't know why MBUSA omitted the cornering lights specifically on the GLE.

I've a 2021 GLE53 and it has the lighted door handles.
I don't remember if the 2022 GLE 450 I previously owned had them. Maybe only AMG models come with them.
