Cannot engage D and lights wouldn’t turnoff

Hi All, I have a 3 month old Gle450 with about 3000km on it. Earlier this evening I noticed my car headlights on so I tried to switch it off, but it wouldn’t. Turned on the engine and 2 main error messages :

1) Blind Spot Assist Inoperative
2) parking brake issue

though the engine could start, I tried to engage into D gear but at best it could only go into N. No luck going into R gear as well. I could only toggle between P and N. At the same time, it shows on the dash that the suspension is lowering itself
though I doubt it is actually doing so. Called the dealer, they advised that they couldn’t diagnose remotely and will send over a tow truck the next morning. They also said it’s not easy for me to do any reset myself.

Right now my engine is off and my car doors are locked but my parking lights wouldn’t turn off. The backlights will be on for say 10min and off by itself and when the back is off, the front lights will be on-and then the front and back lights alternate themselves. I tried to off the external lights in settings but it still doesn’t work - the lights remain on even when the engine is off and doors are locked.

Has anyone experience this before? Any advice for me pls. TIA!

If you need to do something before the dealer sees it just disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if it resets.

Put the drivers seat all the way forward.
Remove the plastic cover under the seat. Pull off by hand.
Battery exposed.
Remove the cable with 10mm wrench.

Ok thank u guys. The lights have turned off by themselves finally (after an hour??). Probably battery drained out.....or if I am lucky, the car reset itself (wishful thinking perhaps?)

i will try in the morning (almost 11pm
here in sg) whether I am able to reset the battery! Thanks!!

What a surprise. Tech issues on a GLE.

It seems like the first 18 months of V167 build should have a strong avoid advisory, similar to Bluetec OM642 vehicles.

It’s unfortunate. A buyer seeking a preowned MB should, in my view, be advised away from V167, based on what is posted so far on this site.

I remember when MB came out with the first hybrid ML (2010-ish?), the only way to get one was through a lease. They wouldn't sell them.
