Congrats, what model did you order?

I have a 450 on order with about the same order and build dates, so I’m curious if mine is getting closer 😄

2021 GLE 350
It’s a GLE 350. I am replacing a 2018 GLE 350. The 2018 had running boards, which my wife hated. I am looking forward to the heads up display. I had a 2013 BMW with that option, and I really liked it. I kind of regret not ordering a 450, but hopefully the 350 is not too underpowered. We will see...

That was that I expected, thank you!

I was told last week that MB was holding my car back at the factory because of a seatbelt supplier issue, and the dealer had no info on when to expect delivery.

Dealer here in Canada said if I place an order now, I should get delivery in June/July. Order just placed on an GLE450. Can't wait.

The dealer said that my GLE was manufactured December 23rd and that 3 others on order that were built just after mine are on hold at the plant to correct the seat belt issue. After a few days, I really like the Hey Mercedes functionality.

Hi. I put down deposit and ordered my GLE350 last week. I did it online. My sales agent only provided me with the PO#. I'm wondering what kind of paperwork I am supposed to get from the dealership. Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Well, you should definitely have a receipt for your deposit showing what it was for. A PO # is good because that confirms an order accepted by Mercedes. I would ask for a pdf of the NetStar (computer) pages showing you as the customer, order status and listing the build with pricing. If you have negotiated any discount up front you should get that in writing.

In this environment it’s also a good idea to review the build options after the order has been accepted by Mercedes. Since they seem to “lock” soon after you don’t want to wait to check for possible errors.

You should get a MSRP showing every option you chose with pricing. When I ordered a Porsche 911 a few years ago I had to sign this and return. I'm surprised more dealerships don't do this to avoid ordering issues. I would not take anyone's word, if it's not in writing it means nothing in todays world. And I do agree on the lock timing, there is no determined timing it just happens. I just changes the color on a build and it took it, maybe a day later a no go.

Yeap! If I remember correctly I have signed off on every finally build except one. And I don’t use that dealership anymore. Get a build sheet and look it over.

We received a build sheet showing all of the options selected. Also in writing was the negotiated discount and all tax, title and fees. If you are leasing, get a firm payment and then go online to a lease calculator to understand the imputed interest rate you are paying and negotiate that also if it is high.

If leasing you can only get a rate based upon date of order. Programs do change and your rate will be based upon the program in effect when you take delivery. I think the main thing in a leasse is assurance that they will not mark up the MF.

That would be good to verify (MF = Money Factor, a Lease equivalent to Interest Rate).

The Residual Value will vary, depending on many things, such as Manufacturer's desire to pump up resale by subsidizing the Residual. Sometimes it's extreme, but you can't affect that number, which drives the "depreciation" that must be amortized in the lease.

Also discount/premium to MSRP should be agreed up front, along with the statement "any applicable incentives."
