How long to deliver 2021 GLE after production?

Hi. Our 2021 GLE was scheduled for production start on 12/24. The dealer says up to 6 weeks for deliver to our dealer in the West. Has that been others’ experience? Seems like a long time. Thanks!

Mine built late October and it should be here today or Monday. Better plan on 6 weeks and be happy if it shows up earlier.

Mine was 20 days from departure to Portland, OR, but that was over a year ago.

Our 2021 GLE build date was 11/19. Arrived at the dealer (Florida) 12/23. Based on this experience, six weeks to the West would be optimistic.

My 53AMG is set to be built second decade of March 2021. I live in Tucson AZ so I guess I should hope for an April delivery. Any thoughts?

My GLE450 SUV was built on November 5th, sat for almost two weeks at a rail head in New Jersey before being loaded on a truck, and arrived in Bangor, Maine, on December 5th.

All this is why I laughed at my dealer when he told me, “you’ll get it 3-5 days after its built.”
I hope to see some new ride pics soon.

They want to get these sales booked by Dec 31 so hopefully transportation capacity will permit deliveries. It's horrible out there in the real world. Needed a production video monitor this week and it's stuck on a ship somewhere. At least there was acceptable alternative.

A friend is a Builder, specializing in Smart Homes.

Now I'm having trouble getting Romaine Lettuce. It's everywhere.

I could not find okra the other week but now I can. I bet my car is on the way! Haha.
(just making fun of my terrible wait time and a dealer that could care less)

But hopefully you had potatoes in Boise. When we were driving Boise to SLC last year (95 mph on I-15 in the GLC), it took us a few minutes to realize that all of those green plants along the hwy were potatoes!

My GLE 350 was built in December. It was supposed to arrive on the 15th, then the second ETA was the 26th, now i'm waiting to see what the third ETA is. I am slowly losing my optimism that my GLE will arrive before the New Year. At this point I wouldn't mind if MB paid me to fly to Alabama and drive the car back to FL (the plant is only a 9.5 hour drive from me).

There are a lot of Sugar Beets, onions and hay grown through that stretch. The Potato Commission spends big bucks advertising...we even have a Potato drop for New Year’s Eve.👎 It’s kind of a Hokey slogan but money talks. I’ve enjoyed the East Coast but wouldn’t ever get used to the crowded everything. There is a lot of History in Virginia and one could have spent weeks at the just the Smithsonian.
If you get back this way again there are two 100 mile detours to McCall & Sun Valley where there are mountains, rivers, pristine lakes and lots of Forrest land. We call the mountains near Boise Foothills. No shortage of Taters for sure but I’m still short a GLE53...any day now is getting old.

I lived in Sun Valley for over 20 years. One of my fond memories was driving my 2008 Ferrari Spider between Mountain Home and Sun Valley with the top down and I chickened out at 175 MPH and it felt like 80 in a regular car. It could have taken it to 210 but decided against that.

Yes. We saw those McCall and Sun Valley detours but were up against a schedule getting back so had to rush through after just one night in Boise. But absolutely fell in love with it. Again, a little quiet for us New Yorker's and we always get suspicious when people are friendly. The worst of your GLE53 wait is that even the dealer is left in the dark.

Things happen really fast at those speeds, and gentler curves are surprisingly extreme corners. The only nearby place I'll go that fast is in South Park, Colorado, a "see for miles" two lane. I tried to reach 300kph in an '87 BMW 750iL with limiter disabled, but only hit 172 mph indicated - the approaching town of Hartsel ended my record (for me) run.

Unfortunately, Californicans have been flocking to Boise/Meridian, testing just how previous Urban Planning will accommodate the #1 destination for ex-CA-ers.
A tracked Caterpillar might be a better conveyance in Boise/Meridian/Nampa these days. 175mph would be rare - 17.5 mph is more the norm in the area. I don't know where you could even test drive a car from Lyle Pearson M-B or Porsche. (Have had good Service there.)
Now you almost have to go north to the 45th Parallel to see some open road, unless all you want to do is blast along a 4-lane, miles out of town.

One thing about the massive growth here in Colorado, is that there are a LOT of construction & lane redirections, testing drivers' precision at speed. They're like 20-mile-long slaloms, between Jersey Barriers. At least that's how I characterize it - better than all stop and go - and a bit of fun.

P.S. Funny - I just looked up the HP/Torque numbers on the 750, and see that our "puny" 3.0L straight 6 in the AMG GLE53 is significantly higher than the 5.0L V12 in the 750iL (299/450). Increase in fuel economy, too. Modern times! 100hp per Liter WAS the holy grail. Now look.

Years ago I had a Muscle Car and opened it up on that stretch East of Fairfield. There was a hidden dip ahead and if it hadn’t been for a few sheep still in view I would have been in big trouble because the road was blocked for about 100 yards as they were moving sheep across HW20. The road is straight but the rolling hills restrict view. A lot of these German cars are so smooth and powerful it’s very tempting to run at these higher speeds. More than once I’ve been running at 85 on an 80mph limit freeway only to have a car blow by like I was standing still.

There have been 4 stops on the Freeway in and around Boise last summer at speeds in excess of 100mph, one at 120+. Maybe even more because that was just a brief evening news report mid summer. At those speeds you will probably get a Reckless Driving citation and loss of License not to mention a huge increase in Insurance premium-if you can even get coverage.

Mercedes has a 2 liter that makes 415hp...over double the holy grail.

I wore a younger man's clothes when I did the 175 dance!. Once in a live time deal. I never said it was a smart thing to do and it wasn't!! Great memories.
