The best or nothing

There should be some way that if a car shows a CEL that code should be saved somehow somewhere. I do find that part totally unacceptable with the technology we have today in cars.
They are keeping it a little longer (I’ll check in the AM) and driving it some more to see if it happens again. It’s annoying but I have kept very cool so far with them. I know they are trying because the app has been sending me messages constantly all day.
As for the video, I’ll just keep that to offline (for now) since my egotistical self went off on the poor guy that answered the phone. I totally agree with being nice first, and even maybe second, but later.........

Partly because my 53 is scheduled to start building next week, and partly because my 450 went back because of sporadic Stuff that they couldn't duplicate.
Are they using the dealership end of the Mercedes Me function to monitor the car? I think they can get almost real time feedback, when you have it out on the road.

The verdict........nothing found, performed as usual, and no codes stored. I’m not really upset (yet) and just hope it doesn’t happen again. But I am really floored that the car did not and will not permanently store some type of trouble code.
Oh well, back to driving this great car with fingers crossed.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

When one doesn’t cooperate/know why they’re doing I just move onto the other 4 in my area

I haven’t decided if I’m going off tomorrow (If I have time to make it there) or being really cool one more time.
I’ve got this one on video too.

I have had another Mercedes years ago get bad gas and one thing I remember was that the car then had no power then. This time when I was driving Tuesday and it happened, it had power but just very shaky. One weird thing though is both nights have been at 7:20pm. First time I remember calling MB at 7:20 and tonight the video starts at 7:19.

- Contact and speak with the Service Department Manager Directly
- Email him the video, and tell him (calmly) this is unacceptable in a brand new car
- Be profession and calm, get him on your side
- Don't attack his department's incompetence and make him defensive
- Ask what he would do in this situation, after he just spent $100K of his hard earned $ on car?
- Since they had it, didn't fix it, and gave it back to you and on the same day it happened again, tell him you think it is reasonable that:
- They come and get it at your house and drop off your loaner car -- this is a reasonable request -- my dealer does this
- You expect him to contact Mercedes and work with them to diagnose and fix the vehicle, as something is wrong
- You will not accept the vehicle until they (with Mercedes) identify the problem and fix it.
- You will not accept the answer we couldn't find any codes and therefore did nothing
- In meantime, familiarize your self with the details of your State's lemon laws.
- Don't make any threats yet, but know when it would apply -- this the second time for the same issue.

I have now reached out to friends to at least find an attorney that deals with this type of stuff. With a car this expensive I don’t mind paying a small amount to get some advice or at least have their name and number ready.
I am also searching for contacts at MB (manufacturer level) to get the emails going and at least start notifying them there is a problem. If anyone knows a good email or contact here I would appreciate it. The more I can get involved the faster and better I might get this resolved.
Again, I really do want the car, just defect free. It is one of the best driving and looking SUV in that segment to me. It is so smooth to drive and seems to have a lot of power (with so few miles I’m getting it broke in before I really use the skinny pedal).
Thanks for letting me rant and all the advice.

Good luck. Mercedes seems to have really dropped the ball with the 167
I used it when a dealer took a deposit and couldn’t get an allocation. Worked wonders.
