Brabus B53-500 for AMG 53
I fall right in that AMG 53 sweet spot. I have 2 small kids and need a 7 seater 4 or 5 times a year when the in-laws visit. So I can't get an AMG 63 ( No 3rd row ) and the GLS is too big for me cause 90% of the time I don't need it. ( could have got the 580, but wanted the ARC that the AMG has ) . So in my quest to find the most powerful and best handling sometimes-7-seater has lead me to the 53. I'm a bit concerned that I will have "power envy" by not getting a bigger engine, so I was looking into some other options and came across Brabus. They make an upgrade turning kit called: BRABUS POWERXTRA B53-500 - AMG GLE 53. Turning the AMG 53 into a 500hp beast!https://www.brabus.com/en/tuning/ove...00-00-250.html Does anyone have any experience with these? Does putting this kit in violate any warranties? Does it put any extra wear and tear on the engine? or any other negatives that should be considered before this mod? Any good reviews? Would love to hear from anyone who has any info. Thanks. b

Brabus kit
Hi
I am in the same position as you but with four kids. I got the brabus upgrade on the GLE 53. The warranty is ummafected if you have it fitted when the car is new. Contact Bob Forstner, Park Lane. They can explain. Its well woth it and you dont need any more power than it provides. Its properly quick for a car so heavy, and has great steering, wbich is quick and very accurate
Its around 3 grand. Just do it!

Ahh finally!! Thanks for that. I was beginning to think this forum was just old grandpas puttering under the speed limit in 350's. It's really hard to find info and comparisons between different tuning kits, but Brabus seems to have a superior pedigree. I will look into getting one sent from the UK as it seems like they are not actually sold in the USA.

I have no experience with Brabus personally but they tend to be overpriced for what they offer in general. I've used Weistec in the past on my previous ML63 and was extremely happy with the results and their support is excellent. They happen to be local to me also so I can drop by at any time. Renntech is also an established tuning brand that also has a lot of MB experience. A few friends of mine have used Renntech and are happy also.

Brabus tuner
I looked at the same package but can’t justify it. Shows it only gains 2/10ths of a second faster 5.3 vs. 5.1 seconds.I’d spend money on the weistec.com down pipe first. I just emailed my VIN to see if it’s a match because it’s only showing made for the 20’ year model but it’s the same engine and code, sales team says they haven’t updated it yet but should work, hopefully and that gains 40+HP

Have you looked into Renntech?
Without saying much, I can tell you that Renntech has been a preffered choice instead of Brabus for many clients of mine. Plus the ability to switch from tuned to stock whenever you like is also super helpful.

If it's track work, be advised that, just like the original AMG Red Pig, this 5,000 lb car does not have enough brake or tire for track work.
I bought mine for occasional track time, got the ARC and omitted the big sunroof. On the track, I'm glad I don't have the V8, because that would overpower the tires and brakes even more. It's the old adage, "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow."
I would like to have a little more punch on the street, but I only know a couple places where 140mph plus is safe. I don't do it.
I had seen the YouTube video (posted above) from Remove Before Race before, and thought his assessment was pretty good. I'd like to have a little more stuff between 80 and 120. Don't know why.

Really interested in this. So if it is fitted aftermarket…warranty is void?
Guess you also need to buy from a Brabus dealer
I am currently in a GLC63S but not sure the downgrade in performance to a 53 is worth the extra space and tech…however…if the Brabus kit does improve the drive and gives it a bit more poke then it’s something I could contemplate…

There was a Brabus 800 E63S sitting in the Service Department, waiting for it's Ceramic coating to cure.
I asked my Service Manager about the MB warranty, and he said the Brabus Tune doesn't affect it.
I wanted to hear it, but no.
